Old people really aren't mean they are just tired of kids who are disrespectful and they let them know.

Some day you will be old, and some curious kid will ask you the same question, make sure you remember this time about your question you ask now. And then muster the goodness to be understanding, patient, humorous and kind all at the same time while you are in pain and the world has gone insane.
It sounds like you are having some trouble at home or school with some adults. See if you can find a counselor at School or hopefully you have a medical plan that includes counseling. If not then look for a youth guidance counselor through the local government or in the Yellow pages. You need a referral. Thanks for asking. You are on the right track!

You don't say how old you are. If your 12-15 you will think 30 is old. If your 20-35 you will think 50 is old. What you will find is life is short. Old people of 60+ were brought up to show respect and to behave properly. The sad thing today is most kids have not been taught discipline and respect. Kids don't have to be bad and old people do not have to be mean. Give and take in life is important. Treat people how you would like to be treated. The old were young once but you have yet to be old.

Old people were born in the 20's or30'ts when there was poverty, no central heating, few cars, gas lighting, and everything seemed grey. Along came the war, where the husband and son went off to fight Hitler, may not have returned. After the war there was a redistribution of wealth in the country and the lot of the general public improved. There was NO graffiti, drugs,,etc and booze was expensive. I remember a bottle of Harveys Bristol Cream was £2 a bottle I was earning £8 per week. Perhaps thats why old people are mean.

Many old people, living on limited incomes, feel isolated and useless. Therefore, they have a tendency to lash out at the young for just being themselves. I don't wonder about kids being so bad, I know that they have suffered poor upbringing in a world gone mad. There is much to learn from your elders.

Learning curves and eternal damnation worship. People have learned behavior and old people look forward generally to eternal damnation or heaven. They have been taught by time to shun those who make the world more dangerous and to just put those people in some eternal damnation bin, a place where they can rot, or sometimes to make those people that differ from them, to make their lives a living hell on earth, just rushing things a bit. Eye for an eye kind of thing....and they are afraid of the surrounding spirits and how they will be treated by them. So programming/rearing, eternal damnation worship/waiting for terror of death that has been programmed into them generally ....and fear of mistreatment by others if they let that happen to them. And sometimes they are right about being walked on! So in some ways it is them guarding themselves.

It's not usually a question of age - miserable old gits were usually miserable young gits once. People just let you get away with it when you're old, like forgetting to put your speedos on when you go swimming. If you're 93, they give you a cup of tea and a ride home in an ambulance. If you're 23 you get carted off by the police.

I am only 22 and I don't think that older people are mean I just think that fewer and fewer younger people are listening to their knowledge. You can only expect someone to try and help so many times before the say screw it. I think that is what happen. Kids in my generation just refuse to say they don't know something and refuse to listen to people who have been there. It also has a lot to do with how they are raised.

Old people aren't mean. There are many young people today that accept responsibility, are intelligent, and respectful They do however get frustrated with those that lack respect, and this is compounded by kids naivety, laziness, and ignorance.
