Bud is nasty. It tastes awful. Its cheap - not in price but in quality. Its just crap. There are SO many better choices out there, and really, they don't cost much more in a store. Like Sam Adams... whjy would you choose Bud when you have Sams right next to them? And if you're in a bar these better choices are generally the same price. So why do so many people still drink this glorified flavored sparkling water called Bud?

Ok, Sam Adams is just one alternative, as has been pointed out there are many others. I find it odd that recognizing crap as crap is considered by some to be snobbish. Why is it snobbish to say I don't want to drink crap or pay for crap?

Because some people are allergic to the hops and barley so they drink Bud which is made with Rice.

And why the hell did they send it to us?

Budweiser (the US version) is poor quality, nasty tasting etc as you said.
How on EARTH did it ever make it to the UK? Especailly when we can so easily get REAL Budweiser (The Czech brewery Budvar version is very popular and much nicer!)

The 'Bud' decided to sponsor the Footbal Leauge... even though Americans think that football has something to do with a load of men in protective armour and helmets shouting "hut two, hut three" like they were escapees from Tenko or something!

People drink Bud because it's cheap and because they like the television commercials...but mostly because it's cheap. If all beers were the same price, Anheiseur Busch (and Coors and the like) would close down after a month.

i used to drink micro brews, mostly pretentious and overpriced creations pumped out by anybody who could. basically these folks did to beer what starbucks did to coffee, turned it into a sickly sweet beverage for snobs.

bud barely qualifies as beer to some, yet it is truly the king o beers to others. one thing is sure, the bud i get on the west coast is the same as the bud i get on the east coast. and it is cheap. unpretentious.

see basically i want cheap buzz at the end of the day. i'm not drinking to perpetuate some poser image. and as for price, you are so wrong: Bud = 1.25 - 1.50/pint, "micro" = 3.00/pint.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even you. Sam Adams is alot stronger than most people want their beer to taste. Me personally don't much care for the taste of beer. I drink it for the alcohol content and Budweiser (THE KING OF BEERS) has a pretty high content.

I like to cook with it. My mom cook's with it. I've tried cooking with other beers but bud is the best to cook with. As far as drinking it, no, I prefer Corona w/lime.
