In car models there are different abbreviations what they means..
Corrola "2.0 D"
Honda "VTI"
Suzuki "FX"

These words stands for showing the different specificatoins of the car, every manufacture has got his own code, so there can't be a specific scernario to define that words, you can view the manufacturers' details about the related car.
But as far as I know VTi is a type of engine tranmission.

Letters = Class/Type of vehicle
Numbers= Engin liters(if you see a V6-means six cylinders)

ex: ACURA 3.2 CL = 3.2 Liter CL , class
