Oh! I thought you wanted help getting them closed down and having the owners sent to prison.
Sorry, wrong question.

Its against the law for a pet shop to sell kittens and dogs now, they've to be given to an animal shelter. I was told this from a pet shop in Kirkcaldy who used to sell both when i was looking for a kitten. Try the green and yellow papers, thats where i got my girls from. Hope that helps.
Ps if you read on there is a someone around Glasgow that has 3 kittens to give away.

Go to a rescue centre or a breeder rather than a pet shop, to most pet shops the animals are a commodity and not as healthy or as well looked after. You should be able to find these on the Internet.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from a pet shop
you have a wonderful RSPCA and several humane societies over there - call a vet and ask for a phone number for one of them -
if you buy from a pet shop you are encourageing the breeding of kitties for profit and general disregard to health temperment etc.. you will pay too much and support a bad system...

Any ideas ? YES!
Go to your local Animal Shelter!!!
There you will find many kittens you desire, and actually do something good!
You must avoid buying from a Petshop under any circumstances, because animals there come from horrific businesses !

{they may talk mostly about dogs here, but it counts for cats too}.

Contact the local Animal Rescue Centre. That way you will know it's had all it's injections, and will have been properly cared for.
