How cool IS smoking? My friend died by drowning in his own blood when a blood vessel in his lungs was eaten through by lung cancer. He had started smoking at a very young age. Two of my relatives who smoke have emphysema which means their lungs are like leather, and they are always coughing. They are young, but their activities are very limited because of this. One had an awesome voice, and now can barely sing at all (not enough breath). The one you wish to date may not want to kiss you, if you smell like cigarettes. That is a real turn-off for most people. Worst of all, it can be more addictive than cocaine, and the money it will take to support your habit will rob you of many things you would like to have, and things you would like to do. SO, how cool IS smoking? Pretty cold.

Smoking used to be cool years ago because it was something that the "adults" did not approve of. Someone that smoked was looked upon as someone that was willing to defy authority and that trait of independence and bravery was looked up to as something to admire. That was before science had done extensive testing on the negative effects of smoking. Set the cancer and heart troubles aside, it's really just common sense to see that smoking is awful for your body. When people die as the result of a fire, the most common cause of death is "smoke inhalation". The human body was not designed to breath smoke.
So, to answer the question, No, smoking is not cool. These days, with all we know, smoking is stupid. If you want to give off the impression that you are incredibly stupid, then smoke.

No I think smoking suck's.. I have been smoking now 13 years and I wish I could stop,, I will soon ,, but after a while your nerves are not the same,, you smell all the time of smoke and your fingers and teeth turn yellow.. Or you could end up like my uncle with cancer in the lungs because of it. You get short of breath and less energetic when it comes to the things you love doing... Smoking is sooo "NOT" cool

When I started smoking back in about 1963 I thought it was. Back then everybody smoked and nobody gave a thought to the dangers. Today I think it's a nasty, stinking, expensive, life threatening habit, and I wish I'd never seen a cigarette.

No, it's disgusting. You smell all the time. It's a big waste of money. It infringes on other people's health and then pig smokers throw their butts all over the place and out the car windows.
It is NOT cool.

Cigarettes act directly on the walls of the arteries to promote:
aggregation of lipids in artery walls
injury of the inner lining of the artery which contributes further to the aggregation of lipids
activation of platelets (clotting factors in the blood) which leads to blood clots (thrombosis)
destabilisation of the heart rhythm
These effects not only promote atherosclerosis but also increase the risk of heart attacks and stroke.
Many people who smoke also overeat, drink heavily and don’t exercise – further adding to their risk of CAD.
Passive smoking is associated with a 25 to 35% increase in risk, even with relatively small amounts of inhaled smoke.
CAD is only one of the evils caused by smoking. Other diseases associated with smoking include lung cancer and emphysema, stroke and intermittent claudication (part of peripheral vascular disease – which is disease of the smaller vessels in the peripheral parts of the body, usually the legs and feet).
so definately it aint cool dont even think about it!

Especially when you follow it with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease AKA Emphysema mixed with Chronic Bronchitis). COPD cannot be cured or reversed. It culls the herd by gradually suffocating the sufferer over six years or so. Compared to COPD, lung cancer can look downright merciful.
Drop that butt, kid. Don't smoke 'em if ya got 'em.
