what are the merits and demerits of watching cartoon network

i watch the cartoon before y kids get too-if i don't feel it in in there age group they don't watch it

lets start with the bad first. the demerits of watching cartoon network is that when watching too much of it, kids can get so caught up in it that they can forget about living there own lives and can also become very lazy about it or caught into a "fantasy" world. on the bright side of it, or the merits, kids can expand their imagination and can develop other artistic qualities just by watching TV. so in a sense, as long as kids can tell the division between cartoon and reality and don't spend too much of their life/time watching the cartoon network, i think things would be just fine!

I personally don't like most of the shows on Cartoon Network. I prefer Nickelodeon and Nick Jr, but my kids will occasionally watch a show or two from there.

My parents didn't let us. There are a lot of inappropriate shows on there. The humor is crude. There were some nickelodeon shows we couldn't watch but very few Disney shows we couldn't watch. Kids need wholesome shows that teach lessons and inspire. I wouldn't think it's a good idea to let a child waste time daily by watching shows that provoke no positive stimulation.

I don't let my daughters watch a lot on cartoon network. I think so long as you watch with them and explain that you don't do this or that is not okay to say. Then you should be okay. Don't let them watch everything...use your parental descression.

It depends on the child and the age and the program that is on cartoon network.But I do not recommend very much.they should be doing fun things instead of watching tv.They do not learn anything positive from it.

I don't think there is ANY television show or network that children SHOULD be watching. However, I think each child and family is different and you should choose what you feel is appropriate for your child to watch based upon his age and maturity.

to me, i , myself watch cartoon network and i find that some of the shows are good for children and some are violent. if you want to watch it, be careful of what your child is watching.
that is my opinion. you do not need to follow mine if you think that i am wrong. cheers!

Well...the advantages are that: they can learn english easier just by watching it, they can learn some things which can help them in life, they have the right to watch it because they live inside the characters. Desadvantages: They can become dependent of them, they forget their friends and their other activities.
