Why the need for Him to beat around the bush so much? Why cant He just get to the point. begat begat begat.... useless history upon useless history explaining hardly anything. Whats wrong with him just speaking directly and plainly. you know.... Do this do that ..... the end
Clearly the bible is of natural origins rather than 'divine'.
And if thats the case..... well .... you can add to the bible today. It can just get bigger and bigger.
I cant help seeing it this way. And christian takers on this one?

I bet it never says something like "in the year 1914 .... "!!!

Bible is the WORD OF GOD and written by His inspiration! We are not able to comprehend it for the reason that we read only the translations made from Hebrew and Greek.Bible is not a single book rather a collection of 66 books! No one can add events to the exising books of the Bible. It takes years to understand the message ,coz we are imperfect and have a lot of prejudice. BIBLE explains clearly the qualities of God ,His LOVE,WISDOM,JUSTICE and POWER,the prophecies and its accomplishement ,along with the predications for the forth coming days. Do u know that 1914 was the year predicted already in the Bible years before about great distratous event in the world! No one can deny the presence of a supreme power in the beautiful world ,planets, stars, moon, birds, leaves, flowers of million varities, and in the birth and death of a person.

The Bible uses something called progressive revelation. This is the revealing of God's character through time. Do you think that if God could come straight out and reveal his moral character? The amount of information he would have to share would overwhelm one single person. Instead he uses human writers and human events throughout history so we can relate and he can show many facets of his character within one story.

And the Bible could be added to--- but there are many pre-requisits before something can be added to the bible.
The Old Testament Consist of History books. These books were to reveal the character of God and the coming of Christ. The New Testament is the story of Christ and his Disciples. For a book to be added to the Cannon (Bible)it must agree with the rest of the bible. This relates back to progressive revelation, for it can not contridict something that is shown earlier in a previous books. Second, the New Testament, being the story of Jesus and his disciples, must be written by somebody that was present during the days/time of Jesus.
Adding to the Bible is very difficult. One being that Jesus(in his human form) is not present on the earth today. The second being that it is going to be difficult to prove 2000 years of theologians that there must be another book of the Bible.

God didnt write the Bible! Man did, Man found bits of sandstone with Hebrew writing on it, most of it was missing, they had scibes try and piece together as much as they could, what they didnt understand they made up to what they believed it meant. So lets say u found 100 diaries of different people and most of the pages were missing or faded so badly u couldnt read it, then u decided to get 100 different men to try and make out what was written, they did the best they could and what they didnt understand they meade up. That my friend is the bible! God didnt write it, who is GOD? has anyone seen him? no! have u seen him? No! I havnt seen him either, believe in urself my friend, thats about all u can do because not one person alive on this planet really knows the truth, why do u think they are all at war? Peace.

The bible is very hard to understand. God wrote in parables which means an earthly statement with a spiritual meaning. The bible is about how we should live. And God tells what happens when we don't obey his law which is the whole bible. If you read the in Mathew 24v6 it explains what is going on today.Judgment day is coming. Am I saved? That should be the most important question anybody should have to answer.

This is the complex of bible. It is the best selling book throughout the world! It is written by the inspiration of holy spirit and by diff ppl of the past eg. paul, solomon etc. This is not an easy book and require lots of studies. If you go indepth into it, you will realised that it is a confirmation of everything that is written and it does not contradict to one another. You can surely not add or remove anything in it. ref: rev 22:18 God bless..

I'm not Christian, but I can pretend for now. I think you have a valid point; it is so difficult for most Christians to read the bible and gain a useful insight into their own religion. Furthermore, it has sparked controversy by being transcribed and translated by so many people, many of whom may have had conflicts of interest, and altered the Bible to fit their own belief system.

Can we not consider other Christian teachings to be the word of God? What about the 10 commandments -- "thou shalt not kill," for example, is far less ambiguous.

The genealogies (he begat....) was an of importance to the Jews, and it still has some meaning today (need to look up what the person's name means).

The heart of the Bible is this - Jesus said, if you love me keep my commandments.

If you love Jesus you will do what He wants, and you will live forever with Him.

Your choice!

Bible is not the word of god, Bible was a word of god which now has been change by some evil-dwellers, and god always said.... do this and do that...the end... but he needed to explain what people in history did bad so that we don't repeat them, but we people still repeat them, don't we? ask your heart.

Well, let me ask you this .... if you had one thing you could say to your loved ones, how long would it be?

I mean, let's say you are flying to some distant planet somewhere and are definately not coming back until they are old. What words of advice would you leave? If this is the only way you will be able to communicate with them, how long would your "word" be?
