Seriously, I have seen so many dark, depressing, and vulgar posts. I see this in the news as well. Almost all the movies and books today focus on the negative or evil side of people or things. Why do we humans seem to have a fascination with the "darker" things? And how can we be a LIGHT for this world?
Peace Be With You,
Debra

I wasn't going to ask but I can't help. Exactly where in the Bible does it actually state the Catholic Church is a whore? It does NOT explicitly say Catholic. Please refrain from rudeness where no rudeness was expressed.

Debra. It starts in our childhood. Still in many "civilized" countries like in USA the children are thought that sexual needs are bad and obeying the authority is good. So, from childhood we start filling our subconsciousness with guilt and fear and repressed needs.

But what goes in the darkness, must come out. All this what you call "darker nature" is the result of a self healing process. Only by experiencing your darker side will you discover yourself. Isn't it obvious? The darker side of ourselves are things that are hidden. So we should shed some light in there. Thus explore your deep desires and admit that all the "dark" things inside. Only this way you can gain the peace.

Anyway, you probably don't agree with me. Just remember that after the bright day comes the darkness of the night. And in the darkness the nocturnal beasts hunt. What use is your small candle then? Adapt and be the darkness and you will see and feel the beauty of the darkness. Fear will force you to take the candle and make the darkness only more horrible.

Even the things done in secret (dark) will be revealed. As we head for the end times, I believe the darkness will increase. It is said that there was more demonic activity during the time of Jesus than at any other time. Again heading towards the end. Look at the time of Noah thoughts so bad ... continually evil.. God destroyed the people. Since people are inbred with the need to worship, then we are all looking to something. I like to discover new things, but know the limit of where and what not to look at.
Keep looking up!

Satan has this entire system of things under his control, both things that seem 'dark' *AND* things that seem 'light'.

(2 Corinthians 11:14,15) Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.

(Ephesians 6:11,12) Put on the complete suit of armor from God that you may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Devil; because we have a wrestling ... against the world rulers of this darkness

It is only by looking beyond the earth to heaven, that humans can hope for any protection and have a hope for the future:

(2 Corinthians 4:4) [Satan] the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through

Evil is enticing..even John writing The Book of Revelation was spellbound at the imagery that unfolded before his eyes of the great Whore (The Catholic Church) Drunk of a Cup of the blood martyrs etc etc, Evil is fascinating and appeals to our lower nature.

Since Satan is the prince of darkness he keeps people in the dark. We as Christians are called to be the light. When I was in the world I loved these evil movies and was into deathly looking stuff. But once the Holy Spirit came to me, the vale was ripped off and I can see.

The Bible tells us, as time progresses, More and more people will idolise evil, and seek material things, and go away from The LORD.This is to fore-warn that THE END IS NEAR!Armageddon is not too far away.

It makes sense people are more fascinated with the dark because in Physics...Negative energy symbolizes force...Positive energy symbolizes weak.

There's nothing wrong with darkness. Without it there would not be light.

Use "negativity" instead to described the mean behavior of others.

In most movies, the "Light" inevitably conquers the "Dark", so that's postive, I guess.
