No, not unless you want it to peel off rather quickly.
Look for a paint designed for kitchens and bathrooms. They are usually in a satin finish and are both mold and mildew resistant. They also stand up to a good scrubbing.

First it all depends on what u have on the wall, latex or oil.(Latex = waterbase paint, alkyld= oil paint) Now days people do put on matte flat to eggshell finishes on kitchen and bathrooms but for like bathrooms must have good ventilation. Lots of windows where the moisture can escape. Older homes I do not suggest flat paints, because the water will go through the paint and while coming back out over period of time it will also start affecting the paint itself. I suggest if u don't like high sheen, then go with the lowest sheen like eggshell or lo-sheen finish. Depending on the paint company these two will be vice versa one being more sheen then the other. Now a days there is no normal uses for vrious rooms, its by the owners choice. But lots of people are using more and more the eggshell or lo-sheen finish because u can still clean the surface, and its not as shiny. Its about 20% sheen level as where semi-gloss is approximately 50%. People are staying away from flats because u can't really clean them and lots of scuff marks stay in the wall.

As a general rule, the shinier the paint, the more resistant it is to water, making it easier to clean. Bathrooms and kitchen are usually painted with a semi-gloss paint so that it may be easily cleaned without removing the paint. If you don't want a really shiny surface, "satin" is a good choice.

We usually use a paint that is mildew resistant in the bath.Especiallly on the ceiling. Use some thing that is scrubable in the kitchen because of grease and various other substances that can get on the walls. Usually the next step up from flat. I clean all my walls with cleaners such as Fantastik or Lysol Antibacterial kitchen cleaner. Good luck

A flat latex is good for hiding minor imperfections in finish job, but it can't be wiped down easily. Where as a gloss paint will show any dips or dings in finish or wallboard, but it can be wiped down easily. So if your walls are in excellent shape as far as finish, go with a gloss. You can also use a semi-gloss, which hides a little more than the gloss and is easier to clean than a flat latex.

No, flat is hard to clean. Use at least a semi-gloss. There are specific paints for bathrooms and kitchens.

Most home improvement stores sell a kitchen and bathroom paint which is the equivalent of semi-gloss. They usually run about the same price too.

I think flat paint looks better, but glossy is much easier to clean, escpecially in the bathroom and kitchen. In any other room I'd use satin or flat though.

Glossier paints are greater perfect for aspects that get different abuse/moisture, yet now there is eggshell paint to grant the seem of flat however the longevity of a glossier seem- (you are able to wipe stuff off of it); appropriate for the kitchen or bathing room. i'm shocked the paint keep did no longer recommend it. possibly do one coat of gloss and stunning that with eggshell interior the bathing room if it gets steamy...

There are latex paints formulated for kitchens and baths which are mold and mildew resistant. A semi-gloss surface would be easier to clean.
