YOU CANNOT EARN YOUR WAY TO HEAVEN. SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD YOU GET THROUGH JESUS. WHAT KIND OF WORK DO YOU MEAN, LIKE A JOB? YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A JOB. BUT YOU DO NEED TO LIVE A HONEST LIFE, BE GOOD TO OTHERS.

No, most things are taken care of in heaven by the staff. You aren't required to work but you can help by picking up trash and maybe cleaning up after meals. You are expected to make your bed everyday and keep your room tidy. You might do some volunteer work like help out at the library or a preschool. Once a month there's a potluck and you can prepare something for that. There is a movie night, (Thursday night), and your pretty much expected to attend church on Sundays. You should only drink Jesus Juice in moderation and drug use is discouraged. Sexual relations are alright but not in public and don't brag. All in all it's not too shabby. Just watch others and go with the flow. Have a nice--forever!

Man wasn't created to live in Heaven, but on a paradise Earth. Christ showed that there are two different types of resurrections, to life on Earth, as he did with Lazarus, and to heavenly life, as when God raised him from death. The Bible talks about the second resurrection but not the first. It does say that those resurrected will not marry or be given in marriage.
So the question if whether you want to be a part of the first or second resurrection? As for what you should or should not be doing to gain salvation, first don't presume that anything you do will make a difference. You do it because it is the right thing to do, not for any possible gain. God is not going to judge you for your deeds, but for what is in your heart. Also remember that only one mistake kept Moses from entering into the Promise Land. The question though is was it what he did, or that in his heart, he presumed that all the good he did would cancel out the one thing he did wrong.

Whizzman,
Heaven, is not exactly what you might think it is. There is a great deal of confusion, concerning the Kingdom of God. The Bible clearly teaches, that those who survive the judgment, will be living on the new earth, in the city of New Jerusalem, along with the Father, and the Son. There is no place in scripture, that states that we will all go to Heaven, or Paradise. Now, to the most important part of your question. This, should be the foremost thought in the minds of every human being now living. How, do I ensure the survival of my personality, beyond the flesh? The answer is simple, but almost nobody in the religious community is teaching it. Jesus taught, that the Kingdom of God, is within you. When we come to God, as humble children, and invite him into our lives, He sends His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part Immortal. The old values of materialism and fear, fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundation of all our choices. We have embarked on the Path of Eternity, and we will never be the same again. Jesus said, that unless we are reborn of the Spirit, we shall not enter the Kingdom of God. It is this very rebirth, that takes place when God's Spirit dwells within us. No religious formula, or ritual, can be substituted. No church membership, or sacrifice, can take the place of the Indwelling Spirit. You either have it, or you don't. No Spirit, no Kingdom. Fortunately for us, God's Spirit has been with you from the time you were born, patiently waiting for you to give the Invitation. When you do decide to take God, as your Father, there will be no hesitation on His part, I can assure you. He has been waiting for you. You only have to choose Him, in all sincerety. After you have done that, the Indwelling Spirit, will guide you as to what you need to do, to bring your life into spiritual balance and growth. Trust in God, and you cannot fail to attain Life Eternal.

To go to Heaven you need to believe in Jesus Christ and be baptised.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast
However, it also says that we each are to do the work we have been called to.

Catholics particularly that admission to heaven is not achieved simply by belief in Jesus, but that one must perform good works in addition to faith. It is a way to encourage a Christ-like lifestyle, and is in line with the Catholic doctrine that one can lose their saving grace if they so choose, even if they have been baptized as a believer.
(It's a way of making up for the idea in many other Christian churches that even if you're a horrible, awful, despicable person your whole life, all you have to do is believe and you'll go to heaven.)

The Bible says that we need to believe in order to go to heaven.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
However, we are not saved by faith alone.
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
We will be judged by our works.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
We need to do the will of the Father.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
This includes having our sins washed away in baptism.
1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Nowhere does the Bible speak of "asking Jesus into your heart," "accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior," or "praying a little prayer." In fact, there's a Biblical example of a man who believed, was penitent and praying, and was still told to get up and be baptized to wash away his sins (Acts 22:16).

There are many different beliefs, but one religion has the proof of what you need to go to heaven. And that is holiness. They have witnessed the Holy Ghost. They believe girls should never cut there hair, because hair is there glory.Women should were long skirts, because the love relationships between men/men,women/women,are wrong.Men should keep a clean cut haircut, and no beard.Men should were no ties either. There should be no tattoos, jewelry,or changing your body(hair, ect.)Once you have repented, believed, and followed holiness ways, you will speak in a different tongue, and the Lord will take control of your body. Those who have recieved it say, that it is the most joyful time of your life.

No, Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; NOT OF WORKS , lest any man should boast. We are saved by the Blood of Jesus, but once a person gets saved they will want to work for Jesus and do all they can for Him, This is the meaning of, Faith without works is dead. No work, No rewards. You will get into Heaven by Faith and faith alone.

You don't even need that much. Either everyone is guaranteed entrance into Heaven or there is no such guarantee.
If God is a loving god, then he would not want to see any of his children suffer, least of all in Hell. As such, he would do everything in his power to ensure that no one went to Hell, even those people who don't believe in God.
If God is a just god, then he would understand all the doubt in the world. After all, non-Christians are asked to believe in something that they simply cannot believe (much like how you cannot believe in pink unicorns, even if I asked you to). A just god would realize this conundrum and take that into account. The only people worthy of going to Hell are those who are present with incontrovertible proof of God and willingly turn their backs on him.
On the other hand, if God is neither loving nor just, then there is no guarantee at all that belief in God would ensure entrance into Heaven. He would be capricious and sadistic enough to break his promise to his children. Anyone who is cruel enough to allow even one person to unjustly sit in Hell could not be counted upon to be compassionate to everyone else. In this case, belief does not matter to such a god. The only thing left to do for us mortals is to live our lives as best as we can and do a better job of caring than God did.
So, I wouldn't even say you need to believe in God to go to Heaven. Belief in God is irrelevant: He either loves you enough to grant you unconditional entrance or he is so apathetic that he may even bar believers from entering.
