Or how about somebody that is intelligent that gets in a car crash, and becomes a vegetable after living a life of sin. Will he go to hell if he didn't make jesus his saviour before he became a vegetable?

I have my own answer but curious what you people thought, or don't think?

MENTALLY RETARDED WOOPS...

the mentally retarded to not have the mental capacity to consciously choose or reject Christ. Therefore, they cannot be held accountable for such choices that they do or do not make.

Think of it this way, if the mentally retarded are incapable of choosing sin, then they must be incapable of sin. With that in mind, why would Jesus condemn the sinless to hell?

How does the mentally retarded get saved?

There is something called the age of accountability. (the day you become a man)
It is an hour given to each soul the on that hour everything you do you are accountable for, that is you are accountable then for your sins.

Each individual is different the average age is between 12 and 14 it can be as early as say 8 and there are a few who God loves so much that they will never reach the age of accountability.

In the life of a normal person in a car crash as you describe, the reason is beyond me, God does things I do not understand, weather out of chastisement, or love, or some lesson he wishes to make, I can not tell.
I know this God is more than fair, and maybe such a person will have a greater chance to enter heaven, than I. For I have been given no excuse for not repenting of my sins, and I have long passed the day of accountability.

I believe that any one who is innocent as a child is will not be accountable for what they do as they don't know better. I believe that they will be saved. As far as someone who led a life a sin and was then was incapacitated made those decisions before their accident (which may have been a result of their life choices). They were accountable for what they had done.

Now I also believe that many who can not be held accountable for their actions (mentally ill, retarded, etc.) would be innocent of their actions because they don't have any way of knowing better. I believe that God is Merciful because he knows they have such limitations.

Now if someone did not have a chance in this life to hear the true gospel I believe they will be given that chance in the next life. God will not judge those who never hear of his plans unless they have a chance to actually choose. They are not any more likely to accept it in the next life then they would in this one because our souls are still who we are and will not change once we no longer have a body.

In the 9th chapter of the gospel of John, Jesus's disciples see a blind man and ask whether he or his parents had sinned to bring him to such a condition. Jesus says, "Neither this man sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God might be manifested in him."

Naturally, one wonders about the salvation of the mentally incompetent. Let's remember that Jesus said, in another context, "With man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible."

God, who knows all things, will know at what time someone's heart is touched and turns to Him, but you or I may never know. We may know, but there is no guarantee of that. We only know, as Scripture promises, that "God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

We can be sure that people with mental problems also existed in Jesus's day, and Jesus knew about them. And yet we know that Jesus did not heal everyone in Palestine. These things are hard to understand, but we continue to have hope and to trust that God has a good purpose in it.

Well what about those who are mentally retarded from birth ??

They were also created in god's image !

Does the Bible talk about a second chance to these kind of less fortunate humans?

No - may be they belong to the Devil anyway - if they belong to god, nothing bad would have happened to them ya ?

They don't get "Saved". But Christian theology will torture that very valid question and give you some answer in line with Christian thought when in reality ... Buddhist teach something less tortured and plausible,

"They have incarnated in that condition to pay Karmic debts. If you believe in the Law of Cause and Effect then Believe in the Law of Karma", Christ did and taught it.

Son, you keep asking ignorant questions like that and I'm going to whoop your @ss. I'm going to give you a good old fashioned @ss whooping that will make you cry like a baby and run home to your mommy to patch your sorry @ss back together.

Don't you ever ask a question like this again or your going to get the wrath of Don, who has God on his side and is authorized to deliver and solid @ss whooping unto those who sin in the act of stupidity.

I believe they get another chance when their mental facilities are normal, same as when people who have never even heard the name "Jesus" get a chance after.
