What do my fellow Theists believe would be required to convince a person of Gods existence? I am not trying to convert or anger anyone with this question. I am just wondering what type of PROOF you say you need. I am guessing that physical evidence is neccessary?

By the way I am not offering proof nor will I try to prove anything to anyone who answers this question. It is for edification only.

Nothing will... nothing has, why do you think something can?

Sometimes things in people's lives point to evidence of God because it seems like things things couldn't have happened without God. Like miracles and lives that were saved; this is evidence of God.

Another point is that Life itself is just too complex for science to try and explain. Even a leading scientist known for how he was so into Evolution came to the conclusion after 40 years of being a strict evolutionist said that the cells in bodies are too complex and didn't just happen by chance.

As for evidence though, that's what faith is all about! Believing in something, whether you can see it or not... or have evidence or not. Blind faith is what comes into play.

As for me, I'm 100% sure that there IS a God and I have had many experiences which prove above and beyond of His existence.

I have been a Christian all my life, but untill recently did i begin to dig deeper. It took the Jehovah's Witnesses to show me the Truth.

Yes, Though i do not follow all their traditions, i do study as a Jehovah's Witness.

But, do not begin insaulting me if you do not understand the religion.Everything about it is IN THE BIBLE! I don't care what you've heard from other people, or read in newspapers.

The Bible also stats that The LORDs people will be rediculed, and humiliated, much like The Jehovah's witnesses are.

Only the first sentence was actually ment for Mrs.Debra M

Even though i have noticed her hints of disfavour towards my religion.

The same level of proof that is required to accept any other belief.

Evidence must be objectively verifiable before it is considered credible. Faith and belief are not evidence because they cannot be objectively verified (as to what is believed).

It is hard to provide specifics, but it would definitely have to be more than the anecdotal (complexity, universe existence, etc.) evidence that has so far been offered.

I'm an atheist....

First of all, it's going to take a physical manifestation that I, along with perhaps at least a billion others witness. Of course, this manifestation will declare itself as the creator of all things and demand my worship. And I will ask "Why?"

What the being may answer, I have no idea.... but that's not really my main concern. After asking why this entity has kept his prescence from us for all of human existence, I will ask him why did he create this universe. What is it's purpose? Is human life the main reasonm for creation? If yes, then why is the universe so big and vast and why is most of it inhospitable to human life? If not, then what is the purpose of reality and what role are we supposed to play in it?

Why does science and mathematics describe creation so well?

If you are so powerful as to create everything, why are you so insecure as to demand my worship?

Have you ever revealed yourself to others in the past? Why were these such isolated incidents?

Are you really omnipotent and omniscient?

Why do you allow pain and suffering?

Why have you allowed religion... or man's interpretation as to who and what you are to separate us? Why are they so many different versions of who god is?

This could go on forever.

I don't know what will make me believe in god now... But I can tell you what made me believe he didn't exist, maybe you'll be inteersted.

I was born in a Catholic family. My mum told me everyday about the church, god, mary and all that stuff when I was a kid.
But I always had a logical mind, and many things in what my mum told me about religion made no sense to me, it wasn't logical. Well, I know that it wasn't logical either to believe in fairies or smurfs when I was a kid, but a part of me knew it wasn't true, and people told me that religion was reality.

So one evening, before I went to bed, I made a drawing, put it near my bed, and made a kind of a prayer. I said that the drawing was for them (mary, the saints, anyone from the religion) and that I'd like to believe in all those things my mum told me, but it's hard for me. So I asked for a proof. If in the morning there was somethig different in my drawing, or if it was just moved, I was ready to believe in god. But nothing changed. So I rejected the catholic religion when I was 6 years old.

I got nothing against religion, I just don't want people to tell me what I have to believe. I don't want the religion to be some rules written by human.

I assume you're talking from a scientific perspective.

God himself would have to imbue me with the power to perform miracles on my own. Then I'd believe in God.

A message that was received from God simultaneously, with perfect clarity, by everyone in the world would suffice too.

Lightning bolts repeatedly and consistently striking dead anyone who said the word God.

Stuff like that constitutes strong physical evidence for God.

There may never be proof, but having ALL Christians accept and love ALL God's children without credence to race, sexual orientation and social status for me, that would absolve a lot of the physical evidence.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. We can't know what convinces another person of God's existence, except that the Holy Spirit works in that person's heart. It is true that God often works His grace through the preaching of the Word.

That is pretty easy: he or she would have to materialize in front of a person, shake their hand, and convince them he or she was really god.

The reason why this is difficult is how would this manifestation prove this?

Long story short, it is nearly impossible for some people.

Now, for me? If someone appeared out of nowhere, told me they were god, and then talked with me for a while about my purpose in life, my past, and gave me some tips for my future, that would be enough for me if everything they said made sense.

I would also want one DARN good reason for why he or she was being so secretive!

He or She would have to physically appear before me and agree to do a number of amazing things like instantly cure a blind person, take me on a whirl wind trip around the universe, cure my illnesses and remove a world wide problem that only the deity and I agree upon (a secret I don't want to share).
