There has to be some legal loophole that allows students to justify not completing summer homework, right? If a lawyer can get out of a ticket that was to be given to him because he passed in a no passing zone by simply stating that the solid lines are just a "suggestion" of where it's unsafe to pass, then surely there must be a way around this bullshit, right? If possible, state a source, quote, or website.

Unfortunately, there is no legal way around it. Legally people under the age of 18 are required to go to school so your subject to whatever they throw at you. I suggest you take your last few days and bury yourself in that book or finish up that homework. If it's a book grab the cliff notes to help yourself out. Sorry bro.

I seriously don't think there are any 'legal loopholes' for your dilemma....It's a teachers perogative to give homework over the summer and if she gives it...it has to be done. This is one that I don't think any lawyer would take on. He would be laughed out of court. Do your homework and Good Luck!

You have to realize that schools are anti family. The more they can take the kids away from family activities, the happier they are. It is the schools intention to interfere with family vacation and quality time focused on family life. See parents are not qualified to teach their kids. They might pass down values that do not fit modern society. The school views its self in direct competition with family values.

Well, it's not illegal. Simply don't do it. Of course you're legally obligated to accept the consequences of your actions.

You're getting homework because you get 10 weeks of summer vacation instead of 6 like the rest of western civilization. The work you're doing is to keep you from falling behind (not that it's helping, our students rank near the bottom of industrialized nations, making the rest of us look like blithering idiots).

If you don't want homework for summer, you should be prepared to go to school until mid-july. Otherwise enjoy your vacation, do your 2 days of homework, and stop asking silly questions before teachers realize they'd like to get paid for another 4 weeks of work every year.
