I am talking about a normal massage -sorry
I have heard that you are supposed to go naked w/towell but I never do because if its wrong, I imagine they would be pretty offended.

its up to you what amount of clothing you want to wear, the point is to be relaxed and if you are uncomfortable with being naked then you should leave your underwear on. Most massage therapists will tell you to take off as much as you feel comfortable. And for the record, you won't need to disrobe in front of them, they will leave the room so you have privacy and you will get on the table and cover yourself with the sheet before they reenter the room.

Even if you're allowed to wear your underwear in a massage still the therapist will ask you whether you'll be comfortable being undressed or not.
Just do what your comfortable with.

If they'll massage with some kind of oil, then you go naked. I've done massage with my clothes on though. It really depends on the type of massage, and it's nothing to do with etiquette.

Most places will say what their preferences/policies are.
If they say wear underwear, I'd recommend wearing a pair of regular, loose fitting, comfortable shorts. That way, you're not seen in your underwear, and have the worry of the therapist(s) making comments behind your back.
Plus, if you happen to have an embarrassing "stain", no one would ever know.

It depends on what you are comfortable with, and what parts of your body need massage. It's just fine to ask the massage therapist; they deal with it all the time. It's not a bad question.

I'm having a massage very often and I always have my panties on - I would feel akward if a men would give me a massage so I don't know what is proper when you get a massage form the opposite sex. In every case, stay in your underwear...

You should be allowed to do whichever makes you more comfortable. They always seem to have lots of towels around for covering up all your extra-charge bits. (It's a joke, no offense!)
When I took my daughter to baby massage, it was diaper off...then for sure you need some towels!
