I must admit I have to grapple with this at times. Saying the birds sing and sun shines can be nothing more than the result of a bunch of chemical reactions over billions of years, than the result of divine creation. Can he really blame non-believers if they didn't listen to what some people reading from a 2000 year old book said? Especially with all the other religions around and the frauds that have been exposed.
It's a hard question I know, but one that cuts to the heart of belief.

That is a very good question. I always welcome debates with non believers and like you, I understand their hesitation. I myself have days where I am just about to throw in the towel.

What makes it even more difficult is that there is not "proof" as you say. Our belief is one of faith.

I stay the course though because I have seen the positive changes in my own life and the life of others from following Christ.

And think about it, our bible contains 66 hand written letters from different cultures, ages, eras, and continents. And it flows harmoniously. And if taken in context of the culture and the time period there are NO contradictions. Add to this that every prophecy has come true. Even more, it passes the literary test, historical test, and archaeological test. That is not 100% proof, but my goodness. That's not bad.

Read "I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be An Atheist" it answers a lot of these questions and explains logically why there must be a God and why Christianity. It's the book that convinced me. Can you honestly believe in the so many coincidences and mutations that we had to go through to get to be "humans"? I had trouble with this too, but the explanation might be something like "guided" evolution, where God directs the process. I would say reading the 2000-year-old book is probably a better bet than the New Age philosophy that pops up out of nowhere...Think of how many people believed in Christianity for 2000 years. If it was totallly untrue...wouldn't it have already died out?

Whatever we belive in, the fact remains that most people do believe in a God, and that is because we do feel like there has to be some greater goal, some greater being out there. There are many books out there that you can read, but I guess it DOES boil down to faith. :)

I believe God is just, merciful, and understanding. I don't think he punishes unbelievers, only those that do things against their conscience (and refuse to repent or change).

God gave us free will. We can choose to believe or not. If you feel the need for proof of Divine existence, then you need to take a more active role in your spirituality than reading a 2000 year old, tamperd with, book.

Meditate on your heart. There's an electrical charge that causes the heart to beat. Science has figured out that it's necessary but has NO idea what causes it....could this be the Divine Spark? hmmmmmmm

When Jesus walked the earth it was the age of miracles and a little after by the apostles. Today is the age of faith. We have to be stronger and believe by faith and believe that the Holy Bible is God breathed. I can tell you I called last month my Job month what could go wrong did and boy did it. Each and everytime I cried out to the Lord for His strength to get me through and hey Lord my plate is getting a little full here . This month there are still alot of trials but at least some things are starting to resolve and each time something gets better I say thank you Lord. And yes He can blame us if we do not believe, it is a choice we makeonce we make that choice we need to stay strong in our faith.

Right. I know some people are going to say, "But it's FAITH!" Well, if god exists... he/she/it gave us a logical brain too and my logical brain has trouble grasping certain things such as talking snakes, turning into pillars of salt, walking on water, parting the red sea, cramming every animal into one boat...

I'm not a Christian (used to be for almost 2 decades).. I do believe in something.. a god of some sort but I don't feel I have to be a Christian.. it's just one religion of many and a very plagiarized one at that! I find the bible stories impossible to believe... this kind of stuff NEVER happens.

And I really cannot stand when other Christians say, "You're not a real Christian if you question god" You know what, that's the kind of thinking that keeps people stupid and ignorant... to avoid the questions is to avoid reality.

God isn't advise. it truly is a theory for the instantaneous till shown. no one has were given punished with the help of a theory in the previous. that's those that are advise and scare others, extremely little ones, that is cruel, into wondering undesirable issues will happen. because they do no longer have the different conclusive arguments, and a large type of the rule of thumb e book now has a large type of holes in it, they could use threats, understanding finished nicely that even with they threaten can under no circumstances be shown. because lifeless human beings do not shout back to substantiate or deny. that's only a neat trick the position they could't be shown incorrect

I'll be honest, to claim to be a Christian and then in the next breath claim that you don't believe in God. The two claims do not go together. I think that you better examine your Salvation and pray that you really are a Christian. Do you have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ? If not then you are not saved. If you don't believe in the Bible, God's Holy Word, then you are not saved. No one is born a Christian. You have to be saved by the blood sacrifice of The Lord Jesus Christ and live by His example. You have to be able to repent of your sins which all of us commit each and every day. You have to have your hope set on heaven as your final destination.

Pray and study your Bible and don't fool yourself by taking for granted that you are a Christian when your words and thoughts show that you are not.

If it's easier for you to believe in some chemical or biological processes accidentally created the whole universe and the human being, than go ahead. Don't be sorry.

However, I wholeheartedly feel that there's a creator behind, there must be. I did not see him/her anywhere. But everything I see points to a being more intelligent, more powerful than anything, any person.

You do not have to follow a single religion in order to believe in a supreme being. Try another religion. We have thousands of religions on the planet you know :)

Many people still get healed by God.
Many people still feel His presence.
The Bible is over 2000 years old, and yet it tell us about how the earth was before the flood, and how the earth was changed by the flood. There is proof that it happened. Like the foot prints of men and dinosaurs together in the same stone. Evolution says that men did not see dinosaurs, and did not know about them until the 1800's. But we have those footprints, cave drawings, old art showing dinosaurs (like Greek vases). The Bible called them dragons, Leviathan, Behemoth.

Yes. God can blame us and He will.

Romans 1:18-20 (NKJV)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, [19] because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. [20] For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

His word tells us that God is manifested to us all. Inside we all know there is God.. it is just that some surpress the truth and would rather make up lies to decieve themselves. God has shown it to them.

It really isn't a hard question to grapple with if you believe the Bible.
