We live on Earth, a novel I once read suggested that this could be another planet's Hell. It is for many tortured animals and people.

Good point...in an odd perspective...It could also be a world like ants, with giants being above us and we not knowing it.

That is where the Greeks and some Native Americans believe that we are born from spirit into hell...hella or hades and we are there now until we return to the spirit world. We are born in to the light/dark world to be human.
The Goddess Helen represents this in the Greek mythology.

You mean is another planet is hell? i think hell is the place that after we die we go there if we were not good people .
