If you've also had a do-it-yourself outside wedding, what was your experience. if you could go back in time, would you just go to a wedding hall where everything is taken care of?
It seems cheaper, but i'm just starting to see that it's a looooot of work. Also, I'm very creative, so the coming up with the details don't bother me...it's just the time that goes in them that seems uffff!

I'm having an outdoor wedding 8-26-06 and it really isn't too much work. If you are doing it cause it seems like less money then you want to think of the cost of tents/tables/chairs versus renting a hall. I know in VT a pretty white wedding tent with side walls is like $1200 for one that holds like 200 people or so and you could rent a hall for that. I'm going with tents from the local church & fire department and getting chairs from them as well (i already have tables) so while they won't look as pretty (they are the striped ones) they are costing me $500 total. it can be a lot of work, but remember your family & friends as they are more than willing to help if you ask!! good luck!

We had an outdoor wedding, but an indoor reception on June 10, 2006. We did it all ourselves at a park overlooking the water. Definitely get everyone to help you, that's what your bridal party and family are for. If you try to do it by yourself, you'll run yourself ragged. Everything turned out great for my wedding, we even had great weather. And when people offered to help, I let them. My mother-in-law was the biggest help, as she is more creative than I am. She came up with so many ideas, one was making an arch out of bamboo for the ceremony and it came out perfectly. If I could do it all over, I would do everything the same way, except for the things I did on the wedding day before the ceremony. I felt so rushed because I did some things that I really should have asked someone else to do. Make sure you have enough people helping to set everything up so that you and your fiance can take your time getting ready. It's not a good feeling when you are majorly rushed on such an important day. Good luck!!

We are doing an outdoor wedding (9-2-06). It was hard at first trying to get things together and putting them together, but as soon as you got it down it went quick. We wanted to make our kids apart of the wedding as much as we can and this helped out. Then there is the sense of accomplishment you get.

I have been to one "out door" wedding.... it just seemed very tacky... there were bugs biting you and no one really danced.
I guess it depends on the weather and where you live. I am on the East coast so the winters are too cold and the summer are too hot and buggy for that type of wedding.
