Well if your parakeet is still biting then maybe she is not ready to talk yet. Budgies only start to learn how to talk when they are completely tame. So first take care of the biting problem. If she bites, try not to pull away because then she knows that biting works. also feed her lots of treats from your hand. If she is a very aggressive biter, try having a special stick that she will be trained to bite instead of your hand. just poke the stick towards her (but not at her) and if she lunges forward and bites it say good bird! and give her a treat. soon she will be lunging towards the stick instead of your hand and you can get her to go out of the cage, onto your finger, back into her cage with the stick because her main goal is to bite the end of it and will bite the end of it wherever she can reach it. Once she is tame then you should set aside 10 min a day to repeat a word over and over and over in the same tone and voice. Don't worry if she doesnt start to talk right away. It may take a long time. But also don't be disappointed if she never talks because some parakeets just never learn to talk.I hope this works out for you!

Parakeets are birds that don't have the ability to really talk like some of the bigger birds like an Macaw, African Gray or Cockatoo. We've gotten one of mine to whistle but as soon as we got our Cockatiels, she stopped whistling...as for the biting, every time he goes to bite, flick his beak a little (not hard because you will damage it) but enough to where he gets the point. If he's not handled enough, this could also be the reason he's biting so much.

Parakeets can talk..very well actually. But only the males talk. The females do not.
I had a male keet that would say all kinds of things. He learned to talk from our african grey..they were caged next to once another and he started saying..Hi baby birds...and I love you. Pretty boy...etc. It's all about repetition..saying the same thing over and over.

find a phrase that you would like him to say, like pretty bird for example. you would say pretty bird over and over and over and over. then, he would start to say it. Or say his name was Lucky? you would say lucky is a pretty bird. over and over and over. if you wanted him to say that phrase.
