Magners is just another cider which has become trendy - it will pass - but it is tasty. They must have a very goood marketing department.

Magners has been around in this country for well over a year now as I started drinking it well before I graduated last summer. It is on the expensive side, but if there is no Weston's or Stowford Press (had it on draught at my old local!) then Magners is the only way to go for your cider.
Strongbow and Blackthorn don't count - they're just fizzy sugar water!

I have to admit, I do like Magners & have found myself drinking it more over the summer. This has partly been down to the recommendation of friends, but I have seen the advertising to and i'm sure that there has been a boost in sales over the summer.
I do think it is a tad pricey though (£3.10 at one place in town), plus it hacks me off when they completely fill the glass with ice. The other night, they gave me a warm glass (just been dishwashed) and filled it with ice. By the time I got back to my table, I had half a pint of water!
I don't think it will be a one week wonder, as it seems to have a gathered a large fan base at the moment, though it may all change by autumn/winter. But if they stopped filling it with so much ice and made it a tad cheaper, it may further it's appeal.

I know people who drink Sol, still with the lime. I'm not that keen but it still exists. Magners will probably go the same way, from being the thing to have to being something a few people drink in the few places you can get it. You have to admit it is better than strongbow though.

This is a good drink but why pour over ice and water down? I much prefer Stowford Press but not widely available on draught so look out for it in the Supermarket! Bottles of it are also quite a lot stronger and much cheaper than Magners!
Enjoy .................hic!

It's always been around in Ireland I think, I worked in 'spoons and we had lots of Irish ppl who were thrilled when we started selling it. Whether it'll be a long running thing in England I don't know
