My hair is dark brown and its highlighted (T-Section) at the hairdressers. Im fed up with going and was wondering of i could do it myself? What kit would i need, would it have to be one i could do over bleach? I dotn even know of my hair is bleach highlighted!!!

How do you make sure your roots are the same colour as the rest of your hair?

I have dark brown hair and have done my own highlights a few times very sucessfully.

Buy one of those highlighting kits some of them have a base colour and a highlighting kit with it (Clairol do one I think). Have someone help you as it can be tricky doing the back. Make sure you keep the highlight colour on for the exact time they said. I panicked and thought it was going too light and rinsed it too early and it made hardly any difference. Take very fine pieces when you highlight or it will look like a solid stripe! Good luck it's worth saving the money they charge at the hairdressers. And if you hate it you can dye over it.

yeah you can highlight your own hair if you know what your doing??
i wouldnt advise using the stuff you but from chemists and stuff, if your going to highlight it i recommend going to a hairdressers wholesalers and buying the bleach from there.

make sure you do thin sections and make sure you weave each section evenley, you must apply it evenly from root to end,and as long as you've done that you should be ok!

i would get someone else to help you do the back

just do the 2 sides first and then if you mess it up the top section will always cover it till you can get to a hairdressers
but if that turns out all right you can do the lot!

good luck xx

yes u can high light ur own hair, but u might want 2 ask a friend to help it might come out better. a friend could see ur whole head it woul come out more straight. You can buy bleaching kits at the salon, but walmart works just as good. im pretty sure there r streaking kits made by LOREAL. For ur roots if ur dying all your hair the same color, if you strip it first then dye it your roots will come out the same color *** the rest of your hair. LOREAL also makes haircolor remover kits.

If you already have bleach in your hair you should not do, as the colour needs to be stripped. I did my daughters once as she begged me and it turned out an awful gold/orange colour then she had to go to the hairdressers to get it done anyway. If your hair is one colour wave, i.e natural they are ok to use, but not worth it for saving a few quid if you have colour on your hair already.

yes you can.Go to your local chemist or pharmacy and but a home diy highlighting kit, easy as pie lol,you need to do the roots last as the heat from your scalp accelerates the lightning process, choose a shade thats 2/3 shades lighter then your natural colour for a natural looking result.
