Milk was free if you were a child at school or you could buy it at the shop for 4d a gallon.
Beer was 1d a pint but the pubs were only open for 3 hours every day, but not on sunday.
Did you know that when I was a young man you could get a taxi to London, see a show, have a slap up meal, stay at The Dorchester Hotel with a first rate prostitute and go home First Class in a Pullman Carriage and still have change from a ten shilling note ?

(we called them bobs then, the shillings, not the prostitutes)

1970: a 7 oz glass of draft in the bar was $.20 in Alberta and a 8.5 oz glass was $.35 cents in BC...not sure price of a pint....sory not sure of 1985
