Go into town and see if you can find a little bell of some kind to give to her, it might make her smile and break the ice, but you know all mother-in-laws are scary the first time you meet them, imagine what she is feeling right now worrying about meeting you too, your marrying her child not her, so stop worrying and just smile a lot, good luck.

when I met mine I didnt buy her anything, she to is quite scary and doesnt really talk to me either, perhaps I should have bought a gift, lol dont try too hard be yourself nice bottle of wine or flowers should do the trick.......if it doesnt does it really matter? Its not the end of the world if u dont get on, what matters is u and ur man are happy. Besides if ur man has told u she is quite scary it may be that he's just nervous too and she's actually a really nice person....good luck either way hun, u gonna need it!!

Easy a bunch of roses in a vase if you like her it ll make a lovely gift and if you hate her you can beat her to death with the vase. Hey fifty eight is a good age to part this world at the hands of the woman stealing her son away from her

If you are meeting her a restaurant, other public place, your place, etc. no gift is necessary. Only if you have having dinner at her place would you need to bring a gift.

Flowers are always a good option. If you are going to hers for dinner try a nice bottle of wine - nothing to cheap or too expensive though. Can't boyfriend help pick something?

Flowers are always a good one, she wont be expecting anything, but a little gift is always nice. Find out from your spouse what sort of flowers she likes.

Every women loves chocolate. Ask your husband if she does and give her a box of Godiva. Other wise a bunch of very nice flowers would work. Don't go overboard otherwise she will read into it.
