That pair of US military scumbags who raped a girl in iraq, then one shot the girls family dead (this was inside her own home) then came back and shot her too. How the feck do these murderous bastards get in the military? PLEASE don't write telling me how your husband/wife/son/daughter is out there and doing a fine job. And don't tell me noone knows whether they did it, one has already confessed (the one who raped but not murdered, you know the nice one).

Barneyboy, I take it all back, you're the scouser that's the exception to the rule. Shot at while camping. Just spat coke all over my monitor when I read that. When I'm in charge, I'll get you out just before I nuke that beloved hovel you call Liverpool.

Sherrybear, you are a buffoon. Kindly leave this page and never darken it again. TWO soldiers for starters not one. Supporting the troops in all the good they do? Not ever read the paper then? Or do you only get Bushvision or Fox as I believe it's called?

Judge not lest ye be judged, casting the first stone. Okay, I'm not perfect, I've done bad things, everybody has, but I've never hurt anyone intentionally. Nor am I a killer for hire. War is bad. Do you not get that? More troops that were in Vietnam have committed suicide than were killed over there.

Chances are I know a rapist? Monkey Fluffer isn't THAT bad.

I was always under the impression that you had to be a tad psychotic to join the armed forces, once again I ask, why would you volunteer to be shot at whilst camping?

When someone goes and enlist in the Military, there is noway for a recruiter to tell if this person is going to one day go on a rampage and kill people! Sociopaths fool people all the time...That's why so many of them make such good serial killers! They're the kind of people nobody expects to do something so horrible. They can look you in the eye and lie and you'll believe them! And they have no continence! I mean seriously, anyone who could rape and kill a little girl and her family, they're not even humane! There is no word for them. A dog on the street is better then they are.
I have heard people try to take the blame of those guys and put it on the President and the war, but that is such crap! I don't care what someones feeling's on Bush are, he never made anyone join the Military, and he certainly never gave orders to go over and rape and kill innocent people. And as far as an excuse that the war just became too much, again, that is not a reason to do what they did, and there are a lot of people over there fighting that war that haven't done anything evil like this.
I don't pretend to know the harsh conditions our troops deal with day in and day out over in Iraq, and I can only imagine that most
of what they see is going to effect them for life, but it's not an excuse to lash out and harm others. So many people think that when our men and women come home from war, they aren't offered any counseling or anything. And maybe that is what happened during the Vietnam War, I don't know because I wasn't even born yet, but I know they can get help now if they need it and want it. I'm a Military spouse and I know it's offered. I know people who have received help since coming home from the Iraqi war.
Whatever punishment these men get for this crime, they will still suffer far less then their victims did.

These are the same people who do these deeds in civilian society. They come from the same population as the heroes and just average servicemen.
I am not minimizing the crimes here. But a certain percentage of the population is inclined this way. Due to screening, you probably have less overall in the military, but they find more opportunity there for this kind of behavior in the chaos of a war zone.
These kinds of tragedies are common in most wars, war in itself is a tragedy.
The average Iraqi is statistically safer with an American serviceman, than you are walking the streets of Washington DC at night, in terms of per capita violent crime.
The crimes are horrible and should be punished severely. What astounds me is the outrage people have against a problem thousands of miles away, and silent on the same thing that is far greater in several of our US cities. Is it because they have a predisposed negative agenda against the US, the military, etc, and are looking to make any incident the next My Lai?

You asked how they got into the military? I don't think that these people start off like this...I think they may have a problem with handling the stress of the situation and flip out...Some people have better couping mechanisms then other...sure there was probably something that was laying under the surface of their personalities...but I don't think it is anything that can be seen with the regular screenings that the receive when the join the military.

"Murderous bastards" come in every flavor. No one has yet been able to create a "will you eventually kill someone?" test. People, emotions, and circumstances all conspire to influence people into various actions at various times. Drugs and/or alcohol also heavily influence these sorts of things. Murderers typically don't stand out in your average crowd of people. They look, talk, and act just like everyone else. It's sad, but frankly, the US Military is no more or less suceptible to having bad apples than any other organization.

First of all it's not that easy to get into the US military. Although with some jobs they are WAY more selective for. Of course I can't say for sure but maybe his past records were sealed. He may not have had past records, or someone could have flat out lied for him when they did his back round check. I do know for a fact they interview people you know when you get a security clearance. Not everyone you meet on the street is a law abiding citizen. Heck you may know a rapist and not even know. Chances are you do.

Judge Not Unless ye first be Judged.
Ye without sin Cast THE FIRST STONE.

you know in my opinion I'm not going to judge them its not my place, plus I didn't see it take place NEITHER DID YOU.

But confessions are made without actually committing the crime for one reason or another.
Even if 1 soldier did admit to this crime it should not reflect on the hundreds of thousands that weren't involved but serving United States Army, Navy, Air force,Marine,Coast Guard.
I Support our Troops FOR ALL THE GOOD THEY DO.
America need to focus on the Positive,Not the Negative
The guilty will be Judged we all will.

well I'm an Iraqi and I've seen hell right in the eye
most of the American soldiers in Iraq aren't even American they are mercinaries who are promised American Identity for them and their famillies if they enroll in the army and complete the mission in Iraq
I swear that I have seen an American HUMVEE burned by a bomb and there were at least six american inside it andthey all died when the casualty announcement for that attack camethey said that they have lost "one" soldier only
so the other five are not even American and that's how most of these guys get in the army and the ones who live WILL BE CONSIDERED AMERICANSafter that their mission in Iraq ends!!!

I think that kids who are getting into "trouble" in highschool, are pushed twards the military by the adults in their lives trying to "save" them.....some people just can't be saved, and chances are if you are a sick f u c k to begin with that gets off on hurting animals and people, the military is only going to increase it.....

They will get what they deserve. After their trial and sentince has been carried out then they have to pay for their crime again through the military punishment. If there is anything left of them that is.

i think its being in a lawless type atmosphere and being under high amounts of stress that contributes to acts like this.

its disgusts me.

but i also know that I have no idea what it is like to be over there.

there is no excuse. but there may be reasons that we dont understand.

i think it would be interesting to see a psychological profile of these men prior to them fighting in the war.

that would definitely tell us way more than we can guess sitting safe at our computers.

again...... I'm certainly not saying that this is in anyway acceptable.
