i think you have to go to a laboratory and have your thyroid function test, get the T3, T4 and TSH tests and you will find out if youve got hypothyroidism which is most likely. Then afterwards, bring the results into a good endocrine doctor. He will give you the pill or tablet that you may need to have your metabolism checked. Most of the time, Thyroxin is being used. But since it is different in every person, you have to confirm this from your endocrinologist.

There isn't one really. There is no quick fix to loose weight. I have tried all the faddy diets, even the one where they tell you to take a spoonful of honey before going to bed. The idea is that is raises the bodies natural sugar levels so it an spend it times burning fat. Didn't help with the weight lose but certainly tasted good. I have heard that if you don't eat enough calories for your body it will go into starvation mode and store everything rather than using it and burning everything up. This maybe the case as you say you don't really eat much. Go to your local doctor and see if this is the case. Good luck and I really do support you. I know how fustrating this can be, and how come men never suffer from cellulite. Its not fair

I've got the same problem. Reductil/Meridia and Xenical didn't work for me either! The new pill, Acomplia isn't available on the NHS yet, so I'm buying it privately and being monitored by the GP.
I've had every test under the sun, it seems my metabolism has just stalled!
I was speaking to a new friend who is a professional dancer (male). He told me really believes you can't change your weight if you have a 9-5 style life. He detailed the gym hours and food restrictions women have to go through for celebrity and the West End stage, and you just can't carry the healthy lifestyle if it's not your actual job. the days are just spend excerising and juicing.
I really really hope he's wrong and there is hope for us.
Good luck x
PS feel free to email me to exchange 'why isn't this working' woes!

Pills slimming or otherwise are not your answer, maybe your not eating enough, yes I know that sounds crazy but you have to eat the correct amount of calories each day, you know I don't want to be rotten but maybe you hips are the right shape and size for you body, you would look silly without hips, are you over exercising at the gym, couldn't one of those gym experts you have there advice you on the best exercise and weight loss programme suitable to what you want, just don't do anything silly or take the pills, not worth it and not the easy way to lose weight either.

If your focusing your gym time on just your hip area and no where else, that could be a problem. You want a total body workout, not one area. Also, unless your a hollywood actress, you don't want to be a stick. Women are suppose to have bigger hips and thighs. Without seeing a pic it is hard to tell the best advice for you. Please though stay away from pills, you don't know what the side effect may be on you. The best workout though for hips are squats, the stairmaster, and good stretching, try budokon 4 days a week before you workout, if your don't stretch the area you want to work out properly, it will take longer to develop the area. Good Luck

Ok first of all you should be very proud of yourself that you go 3x a week not many people can do that. on top of that i am very worried when you said you dont eat very much. eating less will lead to fat loss but there is a very fine line with your metabolisim between loosing weight and putting your body into starvation mode. so if you not giving your body enough calories it will slow your metabolisim bec it thinks there is a "famine" and it wants to store the fat. since it is storing the fat but still needs energy it will go to your muscle and break it down which in return will also slow down your metabolsim. another problem could be your workout. are you just doing light weights to "tone" or are you really pushing yourself to the max. because to be completely honest it is the biggest misconception about women that if they lift heavy they will get bulky. due to the amounts of estrogen you have it prevents you from building muscle lke men do so dont worry push yourself to really build your muscle.
bascially before you try diet pills which are bad if you abuse them and dont know how to take them, make sure everything else is perfect(diet and workout) if you get that down pat then the fat will come right off

No pill are required. Eat lots & lots of fruits and if possible stop eating salt ( reduce if not ) in food. Eat light calorie foods like pop corn or corn puffs during watching TV etc. Drink lots of water and do not sleep in the afternoons. You can do light exercise or Yoga but going to gym or any other heavy exercise will only increase your appetite.Reducing salt intake will definetly shed lot of unwanted fat from the body. Try to eat a little lesser than you would like to each time while you eat and thats the magic see yourself after a month.

See your GP. Could have a medical condition such as under active thyroid or polycystic ovaries, which both make it difficult to loose weight.
They may prescribe either Reductil, which is an appetitie suppressant or Xenical, which is a fat blocker.
Do some research on the net, and if you feel like you might like to try one of these, just ask your doctor.

Do NOT do any pills, they will end up messing up your kidneys ( it happened to a friend of mine)
Talk to a trainer @ the gym & ask for for the exercises
that will help you
good luck & know that loosing weight takes time

Co - Enzyme Q10. Expensive, but highly effective.
Vitamin E.
Lecithin capsules - they break up the fats being released from the body's fat stores.
Water, 2.5 litres, every day.
Otherwise, just keep on working out. You will get there, especially if all you do is drink more water.
