Tell your friend how you feel about this girl and maybe you can come to some arrangement, like both of you declare your love to this girl and let her choose AND promise not to be upset and understand and support each other no matter the decision she's made. Thats the only way, I think. This is a difficult one. Good Luck!!!

Ok this is what you should do. Fisrt of all talk to your friend ... break it easy on him and tell him that you like the girl and she likes you too and you want to go for it. Tell him that you would back down if it was the other way around and you came to him forst because your friendship is very important to you. he should understand. If he dosnet for some odd reason you should go for it anyhow.

If your friend likes her and he told you...that is not your place or your friends.
The girl has to ask or tell who she likes to there face not to others coz people lie...just step back and let your friend smile for a while but if this girl really likes you than she should say so.
Your friend likes her than be a friend you always wanted tell him to go for it.
Than you would see what kind of girlfriend she is.

If she likes you, and not your friend, then there is little you can do for your friend. Ideally, it should be left to her to decided who to choose between two of you (Actually, in platonic matters, you don't choose, it just happens). Once she makes her inclination clear, other friend should accept (even if he likes her), that she is not romantically inclined towards him and gracefully concede ground to other.

tell your friend that you think she is interested in you and you think you love her and he should be understanding. Lets hope anyways. i would tell her how you feel no matter what just for the simple fact to let her choose who she likes more
