why do you think god only gives us the gift of heaven only if we believe in him?

BECAUSE ---WE DO NOT GO TO HEAVEN, GOING TO HEAVEN IS A LIE, A TRADITION OF MEN.
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Joh 13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
1ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
1ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Joh 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
1jo 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1jo 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
BUT WHAT IS PROMISED BY GOD IS SO MUCH MORE EXCELENT AND GREAT THAN LOFTING UP TO HEAVEN

WHERE DO WE FIT INTO THIS PICTURE?
The Bible makes it perfectly clear that all who accept God's offer of mercy and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ will inherit and inhabit the new universe for His pleasure, glory, and the expansion of His Divine Family. We shall be kings and priests ruling under Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:6; 5:10). How awesome! Are you willing to accept that fact? It is speculated by some that the entire universe will one day teem with life and the redeemed of the Lord will inhabit it.
"And He that sat upon the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said unto me, 'Write: for these words are true and faithful.' And He said unto me, 'It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son'" (Revelation 21:57).
1jo 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Ga 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Ga 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Ga 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Ro 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Ro 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Ro 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Ro 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Re 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Re 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Re 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
Re 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
Joh 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him
I affirm not only belief in God the Father and in Jesus Christ as Creator, Designer, and Lifegiver, but in the Holy Bible as the inspired revelation of Almighty God (Psalm 12:6,7; 119:89; 2 Timothy 3:16). You must now choose whom you will believe and obey: the speculations, ideas, and theories of menor the inspired Word of God. MY earnest prayer is that the Lord God of Israel, the Almighty Creator of the infinite universe, will grant you wisdom to make the correct decision and the faith to believe and obey His Word.

There is no heaven or hell; but our thinking makes it so. Believing in god is not an antithesis to living without hurting others. If you can lead a religious life, which according to me means, living without harming any, that is as good as being religious and believing in God. In my native language, there is a poet called "Thiruvalluvar", the author of an anthology called "Thirukural", written about 2000 years ago, who said that the end of all religious practices are only cleansing ones heart. If the heart is purified by any means, the purpose of the religion is served. Poet Mathew Arnold, declared that literature should take the place of religion, when people tended to lose faith in religion, in the wake of Darwin's theory of evolution, I agree with you in that any thing that makes you a good human being, pure and simple is more important than being a religious bigot. Having said that, I do not suggest that you must disown the existence of God.

Okay, so no bible verses. I'll just paraphrase them in my own words.

It's like this - we can enjoy life here on earth without knowing God because He loves us so much, He wants us to make our own decision.
The parable of 'the prodigal son' shows the love of a wealthy and sucessful father to his son. The son left his dad, already taking with him, his share of his dad's fortune. The son wasted all his money and, just to show how pennyless he was, ended up with pigs - eating their food. Finally, the son decided to go home, remembering what he had at his dad's house. He came home, and from a distance, the father saw his son and came running to his son. He hugged him and threw a party for his return.

Why didn't the father go in search for his son? Because he loves his son so much, he wants him to make his own decisions.
That's like God to all his children, you, me and everyone else. God lets us live and breathe day-after-day because he loves us.
A song goes 'Jesus loves me when I'm good, when I do the things I should. Jesus loves me when I'm bad, though it makes him very sad.' He loves us anytime, and through any condition.

Everybody knows God. Some may believe he exists and they worship him as their true creator, father and friend. Others claim that he doesn't exist, but know him nonetheless.
But, the BIble clearly says that only Jesus can get you into heaven, that He's the way, the truth and the light. NO OTHER WAY, BUT JESUS. Jesus, the holy spirit, and God are one in the same.
So, to get to heaven, you have to know God.

Hi, earthner...,
Who says that we cannot enjoy life without God?
Entry pass to the kingdom of heaven is not distributed by God!
If there is no need for you to get acquainted with God in your life, you need not know him also!!
Now dear, please ponder over few of my questions in answer to your questions...!
How you can proove that you can 'live' as 'good people' who 'enjoy life' without 'hurting' anyone by not 'believing' in God?
The words in quote ('...') may be deeply brain-stormed.
What do you mean by 'live'?
What do you mean by 'good people'?
What exactly could be meant by 'enjoy life'?
What do you comprehend by the 'hurting'?
What could be attributed to 'believing'?
Forced to conclude on the only reason of lengthening the answer, I may tell you to belive that heaven and hell are only a human perception beyond any actual existence but a baffling state of mind emerging from our lack of determination.
If you desire to have further elucidation, please have an exclusive contact.

By enjoying life do you mean:

Sex, drugs and rock & roll, and as long as you dont hurt anyone everything is cool ?

Where do you think all our problems come from. We so much want to enjoy life the Evil way, forgetting that it's pleasures are shortlived and carries a hefty price.

Doing things the Evil way, only leads to pain, the more we do evil the greater the pain. We're all like a bunch of junkies hooked on Evil. Evil brings death and all the other little catastrophies leading up to it.

Doing things the opposite way, leads to lets see:

no death, no lies, no pain, no tears, no screaming, no fighting, no back stabbing, no sickness .... and the good thing about doing it God's way is you can do it all as much and more as you like and things only get better and better

We need God more than we need air to breathe. Do you really think the world we live in is the world it is supposed to be?!?!?

Satan comes and makes everyone believe evil is not so bad, it's actually good. He also wants us to belive that everything God stands for is bad. Satan is changing the human perspective, making them believe bad is good and good is bad.

Jehovah is the Almighty God and Jesus is His only begotten son.
Satan is the Devil and he opposes God. It is Satan's aim to remove God's name from the earth so that he can claim it for himself. Satan wants man's worship, which rightfully belongs to God, for himself. Through Jesus we get to know the Father. There are close to 7 000 000 people worldwide that is busy proving Satan to be the liar that he is. Satan wants man to believe that we do not need to worship the Almighty Creator to have a happy life. By seeing things Satan's way you also say it's ok to murder, to rape,................... Remember, as a god Satan would let you do ANYTHING you ever please, only thing is you'd have to take the pain that comes along with it.
Jehovah God only wants whats best for us, by doing His will leads to more and more blessings and NOT PAIN.

I don't know why we can't enjoy life without god. Many people do. But they have morals and values that are similar to what the Bible teaches.
As for not entering Heaven without knowing god, I will tell you that I wouldn't allow anyone to live my own home unless I know them (and they know me). Especially if it's going to last for eternity!

That presupposes that Heaven exist, and or God. Also presupposes that there is life after death. I would love to address this, but the framing of the question makes too many assumptions that would have to be addressed first before getting to the basis of the question. Too early in the morning for that.

I also suspect that someone is going to cut and paste a dozen scripture quotes in here in a few seconds. It is funny how people use their religion to act like asses.

God is a God of the LAW.
There are over 600 LAWS, break one and you can not go to heaven, for God is a perfect being and will allow only perfection before him!

If you are perfect before the LAW you can go to heaven, There were a few that have! can you?
