There are two problems with it.
1. You can waste way too much time doing when you could be doing lots of other fun and active things.
2. You don't really know who you are chatting with. If you are 11 years old chatting with a 50 year old child molester, that is dangerous!

I think internet chatting is dangerous because you can never be a 100% sure that you know who you're talking to. It is so easy to pretend to be someone you're not. It's a good way for fights to occur between friends, and for people to get into risky situations with other people they know nothing about. Unless you are extremely cautious when talking to people, I would stay away from it and just stick to using the phone or letters.

it can be very dangerous because you never know who is on the other side. You might think you are speaking with someone who is still a kid while there's a molestor or a killer on the other side, who knows.
Never give the right information about your asl. Never give out school names, hobbies or any such information. From short snippets about your life, these ppl can get hold of your real asl and track you down.

depends on what u chat about if you bring on the wrong conversations or talk with strangers about the wropng stuff then it can be bad
