Probably for the same reason some people seem to think all atheists are natural scientists who can explain the theory of evolution, or, astrophysicists conversant with the various theories concerning the universe.

It's usually called "ignorance."

BTW, this is Yahoo!Answers, people do not get to pick & choose who answers their questions. If they don't want everyone answering, they should go elsewhere to ask the question.

Glad to see this question, Pangal. The reason for so many questions directed at the Christians, is that Christianity is the predominant religion in the west, it is vocal, it is known, and so many people want to bate the Christians. I can't say I mind. Let the Christians Political Action Groups take the heat. I, having an alternative belief system, prefer to be left alone to my own beliefs and views. Should someone ask, I can tell them, but I am not that bent on saying I have the ONLY WAY. I don't. I have found a path that works for me.

There are some interesting "facts" that are at play right now. Every 80 years Anglo-Saxon culture goes through a culling crisis. Every 500 years spirituality is adjusted towards a more open expression. Every 2000 years the predominant culture shifts. All of those cycles are coming to a head right now. We live in an exciting time. These are the factors that are causing the majority of the strife we see around us, by the way.

To answer your question as respectfully as I can.. The definition of religion is( The belief in a personal God or gods entitled to obedience and worship, thing that one is devoted to, a particular system of faith and worship. )

So when a person has faith in GOD, they use the word religious.. And if you look where you have posted this question, it is under religion and spirituality.

The definition of spirituality is also connected to the Divine and inspired...
And for the most part people do have faith in Jesus Christ. And know that GOD is Almighty. So it is only natural that when you come across these questions, you are searching under religion and spirituality.

If you do not share the faith, you have a choice to post a comment, answer the question or move on and let those who have faith ask all of the questions they choose.

I am uncertain of your beliefs but we are all created with "free will".. It is entirely up to you what you do with it from there just the same respect to others as well.......

I hope you find what you are looking for...

Having free will we do not all believe, or act the same way... And one person cannot save another in the same sense that GOD can.. We may be able to plant seeds but it is up to each person to do the watering.....

I feel it is important to point out as well that even Satan is said to be a god.. My reason for mentioning this is that it is vital to know just who or what you are worshiping.. And that goes for all of us..

It is worse than that.

Christians have blinders. It is a part of the faith that each little group of Christians believes that only their group will be 'saved' and therefore, the rest of the world doesn't exist except as two things:

1) Fair game to be proselytized
2) Doomed to eternal hell and therefore less than human

Now, don't go feeling self-righteous if you're Jewish or Islamic, because both of those religions believe the same exact thing!

No, there are other religions that believe themselves to be religious, it is not limited to only Christians. Other religions may not accept a Christians version of God, bit none-the-less they have a 'man at the top' who mirrors (pretty much) God in all but name.

No I do believe and know that there are many different theists and types of beliefs out there. I do try to post question that are open to these as well but on occasion I do post something mainly addressing fellow Christians. Some people unfortunately think all theists are Christians.
Peace dear Pangel!

It's blinkered narrow-mindedness by the very people who think religious people are blinkered and narrow-minded, which just goes to prove that it's a human trait and not just a religious people one.

No way I`m a spiritualist and they think I`m a devil worshipper!!!
How sick is that then. I`ve never slated them or their religion even if the do throw themselves all over the floor screaming!

Many people pray at home, you don`t need a church to be a good person.

Why should you feel excluded from answering? If you have an opinion, express it whether you're religious or not. You never know, someone somewhere may learn something from what you have to say.
