Grossly over exaggerated - - - Hitler used the same lies to confiscate Catholic Church Property and to get the Catholic Church to uphold his actions against the Jews. Yes there may have been a FEW Priests abusing their power but the majority of Priests are hard working dedicated souls. Many of the stories actually involve men who were in their thirties & forties and 'youth' between sixteen and eighteen which was once the normal age to start having sex before Christian Zealots pushed the age up to eighteen. Priest bashing has replace bashing people for their race or nationality. A safe zone for bigotry & hatred. Historically the Catholic Church has always been a 'safe' target for abuse. Get the facts before you condemn an individual don't tar & feather all Priests or Nuns or anyone who has a true religious calling. Peace.

I think this is a major issue of the church for denying the most basic needs for companionship. How can a priest give marriage counseling when it is something he has never done. Their sexually repression is bound to explode at any given time for as much as the church would hate to admit, the priests are still human and subject to urges. To deny those urges is to invite disaster.

i respect every decision people make for their lives.
Some priests are surely good people, while others are really troubled.
The sexual acts are nothing more than a consequence of a senseless extreme doctrine, implemented by churches.
the priests who rape children, boys and girls, or nuns, they're a result of huge inner problems and conflicts which got maximized under religious absolutisms.
i blame their families, communities, and also themselves, but not as much as the previous.

When a small group of people preform acts of evil does that make them all evil? Most terrorists are Muslim but not all Muslims are terrorists. Most priests are good people who wish to help and guide others. Typically they are selfless individuals who strive to improve the lives of others.
It would be equally wrong of us to black list all priests.
Evil people do evil things, this whoever does not make all people evil.

The priests responsible for those actions should be castrated, drawn & quartered and decapitated by a mob of angry parents. But that is in no way a condemnation of all priests, of course.

I think all the priests i had, are good men
priests arent allowed to 'do it' so, that might be a reason
my opinion of those priests who raped them, is that if the job is too big for you to do it, quit

Priests are no different than anyone else.
I think criminals are criminals regardless what they choose for a profession. Those who violate someone's trust are far more heinous than the most violent murderer.
But, that includes all such people including politicians, lawyers, police officers, teachers. Anyone.

Yikes! They're supposed to be confidants, support, a place to turn to... which makes a horrible, horrible crime, if possible, worse. But most of them are good! I'm so sorry that the bad ones are there, and that there's this association (between fathers and child rape) now.
