In many countries, whole blood is routinely collected from all newborn humans, a few days after birth, for "Guthrie" tests. The original test detected dangerously - high levels of "phenylketones"; this indicated the child had the genetic disorder "phenylketonuria". These children are saved by being placed on diets that severely limit the phenylalanine in their diets. (BTW, they must also avoid the artificial sweetener called "Nutrasweet".) These days, the Guthrie cards are used to screen for several disorders, by my local Children's Hospital. Those kids are also then suitable treated with life/ mind - saving methods. It is not used to destroy kids, but to save them.

Some experts suggest these stored old Guthrie cards would be a great research tool, in ways similar to your question (if I understand you right). However, AFAIK, the ethics committees tend to reject such application. AFAIK, such cards just accumulate in storage.

IIRC, it was in Iceland that medical records of all residents were deeply studied, and correlated (AFAICR) with their family history, in recent years. I forget if their DNA "profiles" were also done. IIRC, they were seen as a small enough population for it to be feasible, but well - enough recorded, by modern records, for the data to be "solid". There was some disquiet and controvery expressed in other countries. You may like to look into these topics further; I will leave you with these leads.

the following is my rebuttal. I settle for the shown actuality that the DNA sequencing is so heavily matched between human beings and chimpanzees. I even haven't any difficulty with that by any ability. That stated, precisely WHAT Alien DNA could you've available to make the declare that there is that straightforward ancestry. So i am going to so, what you stated would not artwork besides: you're an paintings historian/conosseur. you're confronted with an project. A painiting has been found in a persons'' basement without, for some reason, a signature. Your boss' believe that the artist is, say, a guy with the help of the call of Michaelangelo besides the undeniable fact that it is your job to authenticate that. "with the help of George", it truly is a Michaelangelo, you proclaim. Why? Did the large guy smack you on the properly and say "hello, that is MY artwork"? No. You known the artist because in his different artwork you've considered effortless threads: using sunshine, the style of strokes, the thems, etc. you could also take the representation and picture of a way dressmaker and how women folk can comprehend a dress as being from one dressmaker or yet another because of recognizable functional factors. wondering alongside those lines, is it that confusing to settle for that "the Grand author" could actually have commonalities in his creation? reply surely. ============ Brook: ok I concede the Michaelangelo element. i'm honest that way. So p.c.. an artist of selection. Renoir per chance. ?? :) and certain there are artists who attempt to duplicate the masters, besides the undeniable fact that the masters themselves continuously stand out, do not they? and that i will fully understand your desirous to be confident. My rivalry, besides the undeniable fact that, is that you will be confident in case you really regarded with an open recommendations. I loved this debate element btw. :)

From previous posts, for a newborn is fine but for stem cell research is a no brainer. Could you justify the death or abortion of a baby or even test tube babies, who are unique individuals, even if it were to be a twins or quintuplets etc. Life is life and maybe you wouldn't be here today if abortion was in full force. Just use adult stem cells why justify using fetuses. They say hey we are throwing away fetsuses why let it go to waste. Well that is the cart before the horse. We would not have that situation in the first place if we never allowed abortion in the first place. You must understand that the dna of every baby is unique unless you are tampering with cloning which is another problem.

well it can and has been done and let me say that it is very promising.
I do research with the t-call program at my university.
the controversy behind it is a moral issue not a limitation by science. many country's have permission to manipulate t cells in s1 phase to convert them in any tissue desired.
the tissue that is most frequently used is the umbilical chord.
