I know this is like the cheesiest question ever but whenever people ask me I'm kinda stumped. How far back do I look? Parents? Grandparents? Great Grand Parents?

Both my parents were born in Canada.

MOM'S SIDE

My moms' parent's: my Grandpa born in Poland.
my Grandma born in Canada.

Grandma's parents from England (my Great grand parents)
Grandpa's parents from Poland(my Great grand parents)

DAD'S SIDE

My dad's parents': my Grandpa born in Canada.
my Grandma born in Canada.

Grandma's parents from Russia(my Great grand parents)
Grandpa's parents from Russia(my Great grand parents)

So what am I? lol

You don't have to go that far...then it would be too long, like "I'm Canadian-Russian-Polish-English.."

If you want to tell people your background, you can simply go with your parents' backgrounds and say "Canadian". And if people ask about your other ancestors, you can explain more and say "I also have English, Polish, and Russian heritage".

you only have to say that you are a Canadian, with a few interesting bits thrown into the mix,if they are interested tell them more but for general people Canadian.
I'm 7Th generation Australian,my family on my mothers side is all french and English, with Scottish thrown in for good measure on dads side their all Irish and Australian so that's how most people are were are a big melting pot of genes...enjoy them.
