Why should I have to pay for sins done in my last life? (The whole reincarnation/karma thing) Just doesn't seem fair...

Yes. You do have to pay for your sins if you don't remember. I know this from personal experience. I was at a club in Miami, and it just so happens that I was drinking this drink called SIN. I drank so much that I don't remember anything. But the owner wouldn't let me leave until I paid for my sins. The bastard.

How can you remember your past life? If you don't remember your past life then how could you remember sins that happened. I do not agree with reincarnation neither do I agree with paying for your sins through works or money because when you think about it, no one is perfect and all have sinned. I am Christian and the only way to pay for sin is through death because we were born into sin. But for your beliefs, it doesn't seem fair to have to pay for a sin that you didn't even know you committed. What if you think it is wrong for people to commit the same sin today, but you have to pay for doing it in the past life that you don't remember, when now you don't think that the sin was right. It is not fair!

The payment of sins of past lives is mere imaginations. The earthly judge tells you clearly your sins for punishment; is God so unjust and unwise to punish you without telling you what are your sins? And if you don't know your sins how can you repent?
The law of cause and effect is universal. People in the past could not explain about social injustice, so they imagine the theory of karma. You don't have to wait too long to pay for your sin, but punishment occurs immediately in your mind. When you nurture negative thoughts, your mind becomes dull; if you don't decide to turn them into positive ones, you will fall deeper and deeper into your spiritual hell.
Most people think that health, wealth, position... are rewards; and disease, poverty, humility are punishments. If they are right, then God is wrong, because He bestows all sorts of sufferings on His most loved Messengers such as Christ, Muhammad, Baha'u'llah...
The core truth taught by all religions is that man has a soul, and that soul has to progress towards God through sufferings, which are tests for their sincerity. If men volunteer to accept sufferings, there would be no greed and the world would become paradise. If God did the reverse, all mankind would have accepted Him instantly for earthly pleasures, and at the end of those pleasures, they would betray Him again. That is why Buddha went around begging, instead of sitting on the throne to distribute gold and other properties.
This doesn't mean that the world would cease to progress when men were not greedy. Work based on greed is not so effective and pure as work performed in the spirit of service to mankind in the love of God. And this is how men can build an ever-advancing civilization.
If you want to seek the truth, please throw away my book to read and reread the Holy Books. It is no use to argue with me, the real good for your soul is to seek the One True God and to return to Him, your real Creator and Helper.

Quite reasonable. Then when are you going to pay for it ? Like filing a pauper suit, do all we like, and get away with it, at death ?
Even with this reincarnation/karma thing, look at the way people do so much harm, as if they never have to pay for it ! Try suggesting a better alternative, and you will find the God's way to be a 'best answer' !

might help you remember to treat people better in this life.

On the other hand, shouldn't the question be about the nature of compassion? If we see people undergoing terrible suffering do we say 'oh, they led a bad life last time around, let them suffer' or, do we offer intervention, after all even if we are destined to pay for our sins, it is the compassionate intervention of others that can change the effects and nature of Karma, what do our politicians believe I wonder?

I don't think that you pay for your sins after you die. Karma is (in my opinion) repaid during the lifetime of the sinner, or the virtuous. It doesn't carry over to a new life, more of a start over w/ a clean slate thing. Thats how I hope it is.

And to hell with all that damn "Trust in Jesus" stuff. Don't you get so annoyed w/ those guys who answer that to ANY religious quesiton, especially the ones that are aimed nowhere near christianity?

It is not only that you are punished for your past life but you are also rewarded for all the good deeds you have done in your previous life. Its a state of equlibrium and you only reap what you sow.

The reincarnation theory infact is again to make you a good human being and if you act contrary to it, you should face the music. As per the theory, you are born as a human being is because you did some good acts in the past life. Do good again and you will be rewarded, otherwise, every one is responsible for everyone's own deeds. Its a universal and agreed to formula in every theory.

According to law of karma it is right. Because, it was past life of mortal being, but just a part of existence of your immortal soul. So...

Or, you can do the same way I do - don't believe in reincarnation.
I am Christian, and Christians are not supposed to believe in reincarnation, because than we wouldn't need Christ himself. If we can save our souls trough many lives, than we don't need Savior. Right? So, I made decision not to believe in reincarnation.

Just because you don't remember them doesn't mean they didn't happen. If you killed someone and didn't remember does that mean you should get a free pass? Of course not.

We all must pay for our sins. It is our choice to sin, memory is not part of the equation.

It may not be fair as it sounds to you now. But if someone hurt you and that someone did not know that he/she hurt you, What would you think? What if you hurt someone you did not know you did something wrong.? Sins have to be confessed, paid or redeemed, its up for you...Life is a wheel,,sometimes you are up,, sometimes you are down... whether you like it or not, fair or unfair.. it will keep on turning....believe it or not... its up for u..
