Just went into the kitchen to see next doors cat on my avairy roof frightening the birds. After asking it politely to remove itself it stared piecingly into my eye's with no thought of doing what I asked. In fact challenging my autority! Only by staring back even harder and putting my hands on my hips did it leave. LOL.
Any more stories like this out there.

what on earth made you think you have autority over a cat?

Lucy C. Tabby knows she is not allowed on kitchen counter tops and the table where I eat. We have "discussed" this many times. sometimes i see her in the kitchen crouching like she is going to take a leap and I clap my hands and say NO. and she looks at may like she's never heard the word before and her feelings are mortally wounded.
As to keeping the cat out of the bird cage- Make next door a present of a catnip plant. Cat will get stoned and stay home.

No one owns a cat they own you! And to add a little more to that theory is the fact that my daughter has a 7 yr old male fixed cat whom she got while living here. She has moved twice across the street and once across town, now she lives two blocks away, well she has taken the cat to her house 8 times and the minute he gets a chance poof!!! hes gone and on my door step the next morning! He owns this house and hes not leaving any more! oh well!

I can't imagine why you think cats are in subjugation to us!

I don't think there's a cat on this planet who would agree with that!

What a silly idea!

You did good by staring kitty down. You spoke to her in her own language, and she understood!

Maybe now she'll stay away from the aviary - but probably only when she sees you watching...

Actually, we're subjugated to THEM!!!

My previous cat seemed to have a depth perception problem. He was always crashing into the window jumping up from the floor, then he'd just walk away like he meant to do it.

Weird.

Probably because WE are in subjection to them.
If you don't believe that......ASK ANY CAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, that is why I raise Chihuahuas, at least they let me think I am in charge.
