I normally fish Ellerton park in Catterick but it is neary impossible to fish due to heavy weed beds, so am looking to move to a new ground. I'm well aware that i'm within an hour of the lake district but dont know anything about the fishing there. If anyone has any info i'd be greatly appreciative.

You need to find any old gravel pits, Old established ones. The water is deeper and cooler. If its spring fed it suits the pike more

Don`t they have rangers there that could tell you the spots to fish?Sorry i can`t help you there in England...

"heavy weed beds" use Popper or surface type plug good fun .
