A friend of mine was telling me several years back about how her fiance proposed to her. He told her to get dressed real nice and that he'd take her to supper. She got ready and he called saying he'd be late and did she mind if he picked her up in the fire engine? She said fine and he showed up in the fire engine, supposedly to just drop it off and pick up his car at the stationhouse. He handed her a blown up balloon by the stem and had her hold it the entire trip. He asked her about her day and kept her talking and her attention on him. When they pulled up the the firehouse, he pointed out the windshield and there on the board he'd written "Will you Marry me Lori?" and as her jaw dropped he popped the balloon. She'd been holding her engagement ring the whole time!

My girlfriend and I are in a long distance relationship (for now) She has a beautiful country home in northern Ill. with a long winding driveway. Its about an 8 hour drive and I had battled snow squalls all the way up through Missouri and it just got heavier the further north I went. When I got close to her drive, she had made and distributed and lit over 300 luminaries to line both sides of her half mile driveway in the snow just for Me. It was absolutely picturesque, with the warm glow put out against the falling snow made Me think of the below zero weather and winds and snow she braved to show Me her love for Me. I was amazed but too exhausted to show much appreciation that night, but I made up for it on the next. Thanks for allowing Me that warm memory tonight.

This happned recently after my marriage. I got back home from office and my wife was ready with a candle light dinner planned. It really worked and I was happy as hell. We made love after that and I forgot all the stress I had accumulated through the day.

I was very touched when we were vacationing in Coronado. This young man had written in huge letters in the sand--"Laura, will you marry me?" We hung around and Laura said yes.
