Define "true." Some people want full certainty in all aspects of their life. I speak with many of these people every day, and nothing I say about the Word of God will ever convince them.
What I do know about the Bible:
1. The Bible is used as an archeological resource by scientists when working in the Middle East. No other scripture is used as a reference when seeking to authenticate findings or discoveries.
2. The Bible isn't just one book. It is 66 books written by 40 different people, written over a period of 2000 years, that talks about the same subject: God's plan to redeem our fallen nature and restore us to relationship with Himself.
3. The Bible is internally consistent. It appears to contradict itself when the poetry is read as literature and vice versa, but when tested with accepted methods of internal criticism, it holds up as well as works of Dante, Shakespere, Plato.
4. The Bible is externally authenticated by other contemporary sources. Archaeology turns up more proof of the accuracy of historical fact in the Bible with each passing year.
This is a beginning...there are many other resources for you. Suffice it to say, of all the scriptures of the major world religons, only the Bible has survived the test of time, criticism and scholastic scrutiny.
Hope this helps, and I pray that God the Holy Spirit will give you the words as you answer questions and share the faith...God bless you!

Proving something to someone who is determined to remain an unbeliever is difficult, if not impossible. But if you look at the sum total of what is in the Bible, it is VERY convincing.
There are people who have set out to prove that the Bible is false, all mythology, etc., but have come back to say it is truth. Lee Strobel was an investigative journalist and an atheist when he began looking into these, and in the end became Christian. He wrote of this in his book The Case for Christ.

Bible contents some real historical facts that is true. But it was changed and edited so many times by so many people so this is from where doubts came.
I strongly beleive in Jesus, but while reading Bible I have doubts about if the words he said really those which are in Bible.

The more you have faith, the more you are able to prove the truth.
Faith means conscious knowledge, resolution and action.
There are millions of proofs in the Bible and in the life of Christ, but it was not by words of mouth did early Christians conquer the world. It was by their complete detachment: they offer their all to glorify the name of God, to educate the rich, to cure the poor, to sacrify their lives to save the lives of other people.
People from other religions also spread the Cause of God througout the world the same way: by selfless sacrifice rather than by eloquent speeches.

Rather than argue about the Bible, use your very life to be able to show people what you believe and the source of that belief. You cannot force anyone else to believe but you can be an example of how to life according to God's word and others may be drawn to that.

There is no proof....Faith is a God-given grace, you cannot force someone to believe that the Bible is true unless they have received the Holy Spirit...(remember, Paul says that we say "Abba Father" because we have the Holy Spirit...). Just pray for this person (before you speak to her/him) and try not to impose your view (otherwise this person is going to freak out!) but just tell her/him what you believe and why. You know, I thinkprayer is the best you can do. maybe they'll open their heart.

Well one way to do it is, when they are walking just minding thier own business come up behind them and wack them in the back of the head with the Bible. When they go down lay them on thier back and lay a Bible on thier chest so when they come to it's one of the first things they see. They'll know it's real then, won't they?

why don't you ask God. I am not trying to be mean. but if you ask him and he really wants you to know, then you will know. The bible was a mans translation and only some of it is true. people need to rely on their own spirituality and not be held back by the organization of religion. god would not lead you to the wrong path. just ask.
blessed be.

How come the bible is true when each of the bibles contradict themselves. If you say that this bible is correct than you must say that the other bible is incorrect.. so at least one of the collection of bibles should be "not true". So you can't prove anything here.

first, have you read entire bible from cover to cover? second, have u really think it deeply and make objective and honest judgment about it?third, have you tried to compare it with undebatable scientific proof(not a mere theory in science)?fourth, after that searching, do you find anything that make you doubt that bible is really inspired from God Himself or you find some weird stuff and contradictions in it's verses?if u can get through those 4 steps, i think u're ready to explain people abt bible.
