The Panama canal is a very valuable asset. Noriega was a US poster child who could do no wrong, until he said he wanted US forces to leave and that he did not intend to renew the lease. Some thinking about the real politics in the world is in order. Most people in the world would not hesitate to shoot Bambi, Bambi's Mom, Thumper etc and Invite Walt Disney to the Barbecue. Only the reality challenged Disney channel addicts have a problem with this.
