Would deciding not to date someone because he/she doesn't share the same faith with you make your religion seem too "superior" or even too "righteous" that he/she would be drawn away from your religion?

I would definitely not date someone who is not a Christian, because I have to share my faith with him. God is the most important thing in my life, If I can't share it with a boyfriend then I can't share anything with him. However I have friends from other religious background or not and I don't mind. It's different in friendship.

I believe that if you are a Christian, as I am, then I think you would be a better witness not dating someone outside your religion. I recently was having the same question...basically because a guy had asked me to be his girlfriend. My friend sent me an article that it would be unwise of me to do that. In that article, it states that "if you date someone other than a Christian, you are out of the will of God" I believe that that is true, and I refused the offer. And just as it was stated already about the Bible saying "unequally yoked" in 2 Cor. 6.14 Hope that helped. Have a great day!

No really, just because you do not date someone outside your religion does not mean you cannot interact with the same person. By being friends you can also gather information about the other religion.

The Scriptures clearly instruct a true worshipper to marry another true worshipper.

(Exodus 23:32) You are not to conclude a [marriage or other] covenant with them or their gods.

(Deuteronomy 7:3) And you must form no marriage alliance with [unbelievers]. Your daughter you must not give to his son, and his daughter you must not take for your son.

(1 Corinthians 7:39) She is free to be married to whom she wants, only in the Lord.

(Nehemiah 13:25) You should not give your daughters to [the unbeliever's] sons, and you should not accept any of their daughters for your sons or yourselves.

(2 Corinthians 6:14) Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers.

There are similar warnings in God's Word about unScriptural arguings.

(2 Thessalonians 2:1-3) We request of you not to be quickly shaken from your reason... Let no one seduce you in any manner

(Romans 16:17-18) Keep your eye on those who cause ... stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them. ...by smooth talk and complimentary speech they seduce the hearts of guileless ones.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

No, quite the opposite, I'd think, since you might have a more honest relationship with someone of your own faith that you're not trying to convert. Keep the motives simple and honest where you can in life.

No. It would if you did date someone outside of your religion because if you were to teach others about your religion or witness to them, they may consider you a hypocrite because your boyfriend/girlfriend may be doing just what the people you are witnessing to are doing. Also, people may take it as "how is she/he going to convince me when his/her boyfriend/girlfriend isn't convinced". I would suggest dating someone of your same religion to avoid conflicts because one religion may speak against things that the other doesn't speak against.

Bad witness for what? In this country any person can date or marry any other race, religion or creed. Who you marry has nothing to do with the law.

I think the fact that you ask that question means that in your heart you already know the answer. How would a mature Christian in your religion answer that question. Why not research the question in your religions literature. Hope you do the right thing, remember, "God is not one to be mocked".

Do not become unevenly yoked? What does that mean?
simple find someone who thinks like you. I wouldnt say
it makes you a bad witness but this is a true fact

If your faith rules your life, it wont work.

Your faith is apart of ones life, it shouldn't rule it. Love doesn't pay attention to a denomination. But if you cant move past it, it is your burden to carry.

God doesn't give you alot of chances for love, do you really want to turn your back on it?
