They carry brucelosis..it is very common among them. It is a terrible disease in humans, but doesn't usually show many symptoms in dogs, other than making them abort their babies..

Dogs can get infection from each other after breeding. Brucellosis is the worst. The effected dogs can become sterile and it causes the female to abort. That is why you should insist on a negative Brucellosis test by the other dog before you breed to any dog, male or female.
