When i try to install a program eg.windows media player 11 on Windows XP it gives me an error msg.(We cannot validate your product key or version of windows). Also when i try to install service pack 1 or 2 it tells me that the product key you used to install windows might be invalid. Is there anyway that i can resolve this problem?

Buy a legal copy of Windows and update the key.

Ur copy is not legal.
Purchase the Original / Authentic Windows XP Pro/home. It costs around 6,500/- INR only.

the problem is with your windows key...you might have had an illegal copy to install windows...if you think your copy is legal...then go to microsoft website and inform them.... but if you are having an illegal copy then you might need to get a legal one to have this sorted...

other illegal ways to sort the problem will not be explained here

no chance..format your harddisk and then reinstall the windows again...

dont go for microsoft website, if you visit the site for any updates, sometimes microsoft can lock your windows .. then you are not able to go to the windows itself..

gazy...
