All answers point out to the motion (movement) and the physical conditions associated with it. I have heard about people using lemon juice to control the nausea. Also the movemet should be smooth and not very sluggish or too much jerky which will make the nausea worse.

It is motion that cause the nausea. Your sense of balance is affected by the movement and as a result you start feeling nauseous. There are treatment for this but it is best that you try to get use to the type of motion (car, ship, plane, roller coaster etc...).

Conflicting input from your eyes and inner ears. Your inner ears tell your brain you're moving, but your eyes are giving a different message so your brain gets confused and you get nauseous.

Try looking out the window and watch as you pass by things, or close your eyes completely to simply stop the messages from your eyes.

human beings evolved to walk, not ride in a car. so while you're sitting still, and your body knows you're sitting still, and your inner ear says 'we're not moving', your eyes can see the scenery passing by, and you know you're moving. in some people this really mixes things up, and you get nausiated.
