Yes, no consumer communication product is safe from being tapped, not even cellphones. Although the technology to do this is probably limited to military use, and probably to their enemies as well.

Yes, it can.
In my country there was a scandal about 3 months ago when they discovered that the conversations on the cellphones of at least 100 politicians and military staff in high ranks were being tapped for over a year!

Like your previous answer said, cellphones use radio frequency waves transmitted through air so tapping is not necessary. All you need is a radio scanner and you can set it to "scan" and it will randomly pick up a frequency and can be heard. I have one but I don't pick up conversations; I catch police frequencies. They're legal and kind of interesting when you live in a small city and bored.

yes, but the have to have a good reason im talking about the FBI, and the police because the have to have a warrent because its illegeal for them to do otherwise so if their looking for you break the phone if you are just curious the only other person who could probably tap you call if you call tap is if you are on the 3-way or more without knowing or if someone recorded what you the call

Yes-it's a radio after all. In order to tap a digital phone you need to have the "scrambler" chip that renders the signal intelligible connected to the receiver. The equipment is not commercially available but it's not all that complicated to assemble such a device.

Yes my little terrorist friend, cell phone conversations can be monitored. And they can find your location within a few miles as well. You better go hide!!

I'm just kidding about the terrorist part...you probably are not a terrorist.

The conversation can easily be recorded, by either party. The same menu with with the speakerphone option usually has an option to turn record the call.

The govt. can also record and listen in on any call from anybody for any reason thanks to the Patriot Act.
