Brandy and Cognac are sipped slowly from a large round goblet after a multi-course meal. Possibly while smoking a cigar.

It is not blasphemy to take shots of something like Brandy or Cognac unless you're in Church and then it's OK if you let the priest join in. As for drinking it's usually through the mouth and down the gullet, although drinking through a drip, connected directly to the stomach, has it's advantages.

Can't be any worse than mixing them with dry ginger ale like I do..
to the purists out there who are screaming, I DO add ice!!!!!
