My best friend had this problem when she was younger and her mom took her to electrolysis, which is time-consuming but permanent. She's in college now and the hair is still gone. Also, I've used Veet facial wax strips. They are real small and easy to use, with no mess. Your 8 year old could do it herself. Even though she might be embarrassed, I'm sure she's glad you're tryiing to help her.

First of all, ask her if it bothers her. If she does want to remove it at this age, I would reccommend Sally Hansen Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit for Face (it only hurts like taking off a band-aid, grows back in 8 weeks), or Sally Hansen Brush-on Hair Remover Cream for Face (it doesn't hurt at all, you just brush on the cream and the hairs fall out, regrows in 8 wks too.)

I have an 8 yr old with a little mustache too. But she is cute as a button even with the mustache. Maybe when SHE is self concious about it I might take measures to have it removed, but damn.... I think that if I did something about it right now I might be sending a wrong message to her about being perfect or something. Leave that child alone!

Is the hair bothering her, or is it bothering you? An eight-year-old is a little too young to be worrying about her appearance in this way.
If the hair doesn't bother her, please do not make an issue of it.
If she does want to get rid of it -- probably because somebody teased her about it -- you might want to talk with her about standing up to bullies and feeling proud of her body before you talk about getting rid of the hair. Remind her that other people can always find stuff to dislike about us, so we have to decide for ourselves what we like.
If she absolutely insists, then hair removal cream or hair bleaching cream is probably the gentlest way to take care of it.

Well, I havet that problem becuase, being Asian my 'peach fuzz' is darker than most people's. It get's really old from the teasing at school, so I use Nair. It's special for upper lip hair. It works really well =]

You need to see if doctors will check her hormone levels. I would not shave the hair off but I would wax it. But definitely see if a doctor won't run some tests on her.

Since she is only eight years old you should take her to the pediatrician and find out what the doctor has to say about it. There might be a problem that he would have to test for in order to find it.

get rid of it through laser. it wouldnt hurt much, but choose a good dermatologist to do this, also a reputable one. bec some hanky panky derm might burn her skin.
if not laser, don't even try shaving as this will only thicken the hair. waxing is also ok...
