Your father had no right to lay a hand on you in any manner. But it seems to me that if your mother was not in the picture then that was the problem right there.
Your father was, (and I say was because in one of your other questions you stated that he is deceased now)mentally unstable at the time. Your mother was gone either from divorce or from death ( I don't know which) and that triggered a mental state of mind in your father. And when you asked that question it made something trigger in his mind.
Seems as if he was in some kind of mental pain over your mother and he needed physiological help and did not get it.
I know you must harbor ill feeling for your father even tho he is dead but I must honestly tell you that if he was unstable mentally then he can not be held accountable for his actions.
Or in some cases anyway.
Depending on the severity of his mental state of mind.
What you need to do is pray for yourself and for your father and ask for guidance in how you can put the past behind you and rid yourself of the hate that you still feel for your father.
Hate is an all consuming emotion and it can destroy someone if the are not careful.

No, of course not. A child, even if the child provokes an adult to anger, does not deserve violence. And a child should be taken care of by parents, and should feel the safest when with them.
I hope your scars have healed, and that you get a loving person to love and be loved. You deserve that, not what happened then.
Wish you luck!

No you did not deserve that. Hopefully you are away from him now. He sounds like a violent and cruel man. I hope you can find out about your mother from someone else in the family.
Good luck to you.

Was it something your mother did? I have never been stabbed by my parents. Beaten yes but not stabbed. I think he needs counseling and you need to get out before he snaps again. No one deserves unnecessary abuse.

Stabbed! You had every right to ask about your mother and he had no right to do that to you. He's abusive and if he ever becomes that way again, call the police. Drunk or sober there is NO excuse for abuse. Ever!
Nothing is your fault, nothing at all.

Ummm... No. I can't think of any 9 year old child that would deserve that. Come to think of it, I can't think of any person who deserves to be stabbed in the back.

do you mean litteraly stabbed, as in with a knife ? if that is what you mean, then NO.. not under any circumstances does a child DESERVE to be hurt. NONE !!! have you gotten any help to deal with this issue ? if not, then I strongly suggest you do, or at least talk it out with some one you trust. God bless

No you did not. You were a child. Your father has problems. I could never harm my child. It doesn't matter what you said or did! Don't let his issues cause you self doubt. Be strong. Peace to you from frogspeaceflower.
