Her name doesn't happen to be Kristy does it? Because I have one of those sisters too. It had gotten to the point where my parents had covered up a drunk driving accident (she hit a pole), my neice and nephew were calling to come and get them because mom was passed out, and I avoided inviting her to my children's birthday parties because she brought her own beer. I hate to say it, she is an alcoholic and she does need help. Your problem is that she is in denial, so you need for her to see her problem first. If she claims she can quit drinking, call her on it. Make a bet with her that she can't quit for a week straight. Hopefully after that week, she'll realize how hard that was and start to take into consideration that what you are saying may have some truth to it. It's a long process to reach someone in denial or to help someone that doesn't want help. Don't give up on her! Keep reminding yourself that acoholism is a disease.

first off, i think that it's great that you are concerned for your sister. you care and you are very aware of what is going on... but your sister is young ~ most people do go through a "drinking" phase that usually will pass after a while (sometimes the while is a few months to a few years) and thankfully, she's just drinking beer rather than something harsher. the unfortunate thing is that YOU will never be able to make her stop. she will have to come to her own realization, be it that she is hurting her family or not being responsible for herself, it will have to be her decision. just do what you're doing... keep an eye on her and make sure she's safe, but don't give her too much sh*t about it, otherwise she may start to turn the blame on you as to why she is drinking so much.

Sit down with your sister and tell her how her drinking is making you feel. Tell her that your worried she might get a lil defensive but be calm and reasonable and if she won't listen make her do somethign to get ehr to stop. Take her beer or just force ehr to go to rehabe.
Do what you think its best for her but first talk it out. Also listen to what she wants cuz thats very important she is a grown woman btu that doesn't mean she can handle this by herself she might need a lot of help.

Calm down. There are a lot of beer drinkers out there that function fine on 5 beers a day. It is not a problem until it interferes with her life. Like she stops going to work, school, whatever she does. Refuses to go anywhere....etc.
She's 23. That is what most 23 year old girls do!

Your sister needs to experience the consequences of her alcoholism if she is to have any chance to come out of her denial and realize that she has a problem. If you know that she is drinking and driving, the best thing you can do is to report her to your local authorities. A night in a drunk tank might do much to wake her up to just how far her disease has progressed.
Best of all, make an appointment with a professional counselor and seek their advice. They can help you arrange an intervention for your sister.

Its hard to life with some one who drinks a lot, they dont realise that they are hurting others with thier drinking ,and they dont see that they have a problem until its to late, visit your nearest rehab centre and ask them how to deal with that kind of situation, and tell them that your sister is not willing to come to rehab, maybe they can come to your sister and convince her that she has a problem and that she needs help,Dont give Up soon she will realise that she is hurting the whole family with her bad drinking.

I'm sure that as she matures it will stop. She is old enough to make up her own mind. Besides there is nothing you can do without her admitting she has a problem. The only thing to do is be there for her. Tell her you know she has an issue and she is not fooling you.
Good luck and I'll pray for her.
