Thank god for immigration, or else Americans would be stuck with barely edible food such as pot roast, baked potatoes, and roasted turkey... UGH! If it were not for immigrants, Americans wouldn't be enjoying pasta, wonton soup noodles*, Korean barbecue, sashimi, and tandoori chicken.
(*Wonton soup noodles chosen as the representative of Chinese food because it is perhaps the only Chinese dish widely known to Americans that is half-authentic. Other truly Chinese food wouldn't be recognised by most Americans =p)

There is no question that America has always welcomed and absorbed immigrants, who came here LEGALLY and wanted to become part of American society.
Today's problems are caused by people who have come here IL-legally, and DO NOT want to become part of American society, but want to exploit American society while demanding that American society conform itself to their desires for America's wealth by demanding money, property and special treatment before they return to their own country.

Illegal aliens, no such thing as illegal immigrants, are not the reason we have a great variety of food in the USA, that came about because people immigrated to the USA LEGALLY.
There is nothing wrong with legal immigrants, but illegal aliens are criminals. Painting a good picture of legal immigrants does not rub off on illegal aliens. They are still and always will be, criminals.
Even Native Americans' ancestors immigrated here. They developed a great variety of edible plant life, a lot of our cuisine would not be possible if not for that.

Legal immigrants are fine with me. As a legal immigrant into another country (American moved to Scandinava) I am personally tired of "I hate you go home" statements. And all the foods are interesting.

The work would still get done, but you might see a revolt against the middle men who are getting rich from paying low prices to the farmers, and charging high prices to the consumers. the price paid farmers for a bushel of wheat has not gone up significantly in over 30 years. Only bio-mechanics, which has allowed for farmers to get more bushels per acre has kept them afloat.

The only American that is not a decendant of an immigrant is a Native American. America is made up of all different nationalities of Americans. So all the food you described can be considered American!!!!!!

my diet consists of frozen pizza and instant mac and cheese. I know what your thinking, I am a fat as s american. Nope I am not. Also, I do not shop at wal mart. Yet, I want all the illegals out now! I have my own reasons, just like everyone else does. I am eating just fine without crops and fruit.

OK legal immigrants built this country and it is a beautiful place with all the best from many cultures. but now illegal immigration is out of control in many parts of our country so I have to say that one must be clear about what we belive..... legal immigration is good.... but illegal immigration needs to be controlled. it hurts this country and puts a heavy load on all of us tax paying citizens. so I say I do agree to a piont. ....I don't have any simpathy for illegal's who come here and get a free ride, GO HOME and get a free ride from your own people,

Yes, legal immigration is fine and that's the only true immigration there is. Running across the border and jumping fences has nothing to do with immigration.

I believe when someone talks about getting the illegals out of the usa they are talking about the ones that stay here and hide out for years not pay the taxes not contribute to society.The ones who make fun of the legal citizens, the ones who refuse to learn our language.THe ones who sits in a restuarant and make fun of us behind our back.The ones who rent houses and not pay the rent and destroy the property.The ones who refuse to hang the usa flag out side there door and hang there old countries flag instead.THe immigrents who bring food into our country has the permission of our government or it would never of made it here.
