Buy them while still a bit green, and give 'em a couple days on the shelf before using them. Don't buy a large amount at once, and don't store them in the refrigerator. By the way - brown spots don't mean the bananas are spoiled - it means they'll be softer and sweeter. If they're real brown - you can make banana bread out of 'em - in fact, nearly-spoiled bananas make the tastiest banana bread.

To help these fruits ripen faster, keep them on the counter for two to five days. Once they start turning soft — or you've sliced them — relocate to the fridge; the 40ºF temps delay decay. While the cold turns banana skins brown, the inside will still be fresh.

Freeze them, then you can have popsicles, or do what I do, I buy some ripe & some not so ripe (green on the tops) hen after you've eaten the ripe ones, the green ones R ripe & ready to go. The overripe ones R good in oatmeal & banana bread, & bread pudding!

Just keep them out of the poly-bags. Do not refrigerate. These are perishable goods so eat them fresh otherwise their nutritious ingredients deteriorate as the time passes. Enjoy Eating Bananas fresh.

Store in plastic bags in general
refrigerator area, or open, in crisper.
Will remain fresh for 1 to 2 weeks. The skin may turn-black and discolor to some extent, but the pulp is still good eating.
or wrap a newspaper around them...it'll keep them good but for a short period of time.
u can also mash them and add 4 drops of concentrated lemon juice..they won't turn black i assure u.

If you put them in the fridge at the time of ripeness you like them. They will brown but hold that ripeness inside for about a week.

Put them in a large Ziploc bag and remove as much air as possible and close. They will last for a week and a half.
