everyone knows that feeling you get inside from a first time kiss, seeing someone you haven't seen for a long time, or even solving a problem that until now has stumped you. my question is what happens inside of your brain to make you feel like that. and can it be copied with a drug or meds?

They're called endorphines and you have them in your brain already, you just have to learn how to unlock them.

Most drugs have natural origins so that's a trick question. "Natural" doesn't mean safe. I'm highly allergic to an herb that is used as a homeopathic remedy.

If you mean you want to live in a false reality, it tends to lead to nasty side-effects, the most significant one being that you learn to live outside of reality and don't take care of your obligations.

Did you know that some people are addicted to adrenaline, the chemical your body creates when you are working out or excited? People who run say they get a natural high when running, to the extent that they get grumpy if they don't run. I think that's an amazing thing--being physically fit and getting your "fix" every day. Double whammy on benefits.

I was gonna say adrenaline, but that isn't right. It's just some sort of chemical leaving your brain when something excites you or makes you feel extremly proud or happy. I doubt that a drug could copy it because it's in a human body and something very natural. Your pituitary gland makes these, I believe.

Salvia Divanorum. It's a member of the sage family, completely legal and quite interesting.
Although I don't recommend you try it alone your first time.

taking a drug to provide you with the same feeling would be completely counter-productive. in order to maintain some innocence and wonder in life, we should try to treasure the simple, pure pleasures that come naturally... not try to forcibly recreate them.

its like a serious release of endorphins, but i don't know how the body does it. sex, chocolate and sunlight all release endorphins into our system, but not as quickly as the things u mention. I guess we just have to keep falling in love and having first kisses!

different chemicals releasing themselves in your brain... and I'm sure they have 'synthetic' drugs that can duplicate it... I had feelings of euphoria when they doped me up with kytocane*(sp?)
