Haircut Gone Wrong?

Question

It's a simple matter, really. Recently I got a haircut that...didn't quite meet my expectations, to say the least. I had short hair (not-quite-shoulder-length) to begin with, so it's especially unflattering. Furthermore, school's starting in less than two weeks and I don't think I'll be able to bear the humiliation. Yes, I'm fully aware of how superficial I sound. I'm sorry. Rest assured that if you had my hair right now, you'd be just as bad. If not worse.
So what I'd like to ask you knowledgeable folk out there on the Intraweb is...are there any practices one can employ in order to facilitate (relatively) rapid hair growth? If not, how best should my plight be dealt with?

If your hair is really too short, why dont you spike it up and wear some colors and glitter gel until it grows out. Make a statement! Streak your hair to match your outfits!

Okay, I totally know how you feel,i'm in the same situation right now, only thing is I'm much older then you and not in school. Hair cut gone wrong has happened to me a few times. i could write a book on it. I've had such horrible hair cuts that i cried when i saw it. I could probably help you more if I could see it, but since I can't here are a few tips.Give your hair more volume, that will make it look like it is longer then it really is,use a root booster and mousse on the rest,blow dry your head upside down, use a larger barrel curling iron or flat iron to flip the ends out, that will give it more of the wingy stylish look,you could try some spray wax to make it look more piecey. You could get some high lights or low lights on the top that will give the illusion that it is fuller and it will look like it has more movement. There isn't anything that will make your hair grow faster,hair grows about half an inch a month. you will just have to style it the best you can and wait for it to get longer. I know it sucks. Just remembr it will grow back though,it's not a permanent situation. P.S. listen to honeybee(above me) ,she gave me good advice on my color. Good luck

The only thing that will make your hair grow faster is time and patience. Dont be so stressed out over this. Stress will cause hair loss and slow of hair growth. You should find a way to make your new style fun. Do different things with it that you couldnt do before. Tie a cute ribbon or scarf around your head like ou would wear a headband. Tie it in the back so it looks cute and you had color and make it more cute. Get choppy or layered side bangs to add more interest into it and look up different short hair do's online. I think most girls have been there. Bad haircuts are an unfortunate thing. And it's not a fun waiting game. The best bit of advice I can give you is to style it with a lot of volume. Maybe wear it flipped out or use a curling iron and curl the best you can to get the most volume. That's the best way to make it look like you've got a lot of hair even though it's shorter than you'd like. Go to a professional and get a consultation. Make sure the two of you are on the same page. You need to trust her and the only way you are going to get a good cut is by communication. Ask if they charge for the consultation. Some do and some don't. If you know she understands what you want, and btw, don't be afraid to take in several pictures of what you like. I have combined several looks to make one really cute cut. Use the products she suggests to maintain the look you want for the length you will wind up with.

As your hair grows, move into new styles and cuts. You can massage your scalp when you turn your head upside down in the shower as your washing it. Blood rushes to your head and increases circulation along with the massaging, which in turn causes you hair to grow faster.

Hair extensions are the best way to get your hair back in less than two weeks. There are many different ways to use them. I will give you the least expensive because you are a student. You can purchase hair and hair glue and hair glue remover at the beauty supply( yellow pages for your city). Then you cut the wefts of hair to fit in your hair an the scalp, leaving an inch of hair around the hairline to camouflage. You then part your hair horizontally and apply the glue to the sewn part of the weft then hold onto your scalp until it dries( about one minute). In the front do the same but part your hair diagonally so the hair will lay toward your face.

or better yet, have the confidence that you have a good haircut...dont even bring notice to it...and with your personality, which I am sure is great, no one will even notice and by the time they do...it would have grown back to the way it was before. actually try wearing a hat, use your knowledge and experiment with acesories nad try it out if it looks good, try reading fashion magazines, there might be sonme examples there
